We’re so happy to share that together we raised $1,100, PLUS all of the day of donations, for the Alzheimer Society! 💜

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to the first Base Raiders Memorial Slo-Pitch Tournament! Whether you played, participated in the Home Run Derby, donated, bought raffle tickets, grabbed some food or drinks, volunteered, or just came out to cheer everyone on, you helped make the day such a success.

A special thank you to the Cannington Lions Club for manning the BBQs and keeping everyone well fed throughout the day. We really appreciated you being there and helping us pull it all off!

And of course, to our bartenders, Erin and Sandy, for making sure no one went thirsty, no matter how hot and sunny it got! ☀️🍻 You were absolute troopers behind the bar all day, and we can’t thank you enough!

And a huge thank you to Brad for somehow managing to acquire all of our amazing raffle prizes! Your efforts helped make the raffle a huge part of the day and, more importantly, helped us raise even more money for the Alzheimer Society.

Most importantly, thank you for helping us honour our Mom’s memory while raising money for a cause that means so much to so many families.

We learned lots in year one and already have plenty of ideas for next time. We’re looking forward to doing it all again next year, bigger and better!

⚾️ Two weeks to go!

We're getting excited for the first annual Base Raiders Memorial Slo-Pitch Tournament on Saturday, July 11, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Bonner Fields in Uxbridge.

This tournament is being held in memory of our mom, Shirley Bogardis (O'Neill), who we lost to Alzheimer's in January. It's our way of bringing together family, friends, and our community to celebrate her life while raising funds and awareness for the Alzheimer Society of Durham Region.

We're thrilled to already have 5 teams registered, and we'd love to add a 6th team! If you don't have a full team, no worries—we're also accepting individual registrations and will match you up with a team.

Even if you don't want to play, we'd love for you to stop by and spend the day with us. There will be:

Great slo-pitch all day
Food and drinks available for purchase
Raffle prizes, including authentic autographed jerseys, sports memorabilia, and other great items
An opportunity to support families affected by Alzheimer's

A few months ago, this tournament was just an idea. A “what if we did something fun this summer?” conversation that slowly turned into something we’re genuinely really excited about.

The Base Raiders Memorial Tournament is about getting people together, playing ball, having a laugh, seeing old friends, meeting new ones, and taking a moment to remember the people who still mean a lot to us every single day.

No big speeches. No heavy stuff. Just a really good day with good people.

Expect a full day of slo pitch, food, cold drinks, music, kids running around, friendly competition, and hopefully a lot of memories made.
