These are some shots of a breathing exercise done at the end of a group class. With the goal being to CHILL OUT and calm the nervous system.

One thing I’ve learned over the years of training people is that we tend to focus on activation or lighting people up. How much energy can I get out of a person, how much can I redline this human engine, how hard can I push you?

There is a place for this in training, and in competition. On the other hand we should be asking “How well can we bring those people back down to a resting state”?

Leading people to a mountaintop is great, granted that you can get back down safely.

Give this simple push practice a try.

- get ups, one of my favourite movements. Push, roll, hinge, lunge, all while keeping your shoulder stable.

- navy seals, just a simple push up but when you come up bring a knee to an elbow. Great way to build mobility on top of stability.

- push up pyramid 5-4-3-2-6 just a way to build a burn. The last couple reps ask you to find ways to tighten up and grind it out.

Boxing’s something that you don’t play. It is something that has helped many find the way.

Discipline, focus, and control. It’s accessible to all, learning how to get back up will always be more important than learning how to fall.

Working on greasing the groove.

The idea 💡
- do a few reps that are good quality
- take a rest & do some fast n’ loose*
- repeat every minute on the minute**
- pick skills that can chain together***

The result 🔬
- a workout that leaves you fresh
- a short and sweet practice
- safe and sustainable results
- no gimmicks or complicated moves

*let go of your strength, try shaking some rain drops off of your body
**today we did 20 rounds or 20min
**here we have a swing, clean, press, and 3 squat.

I love when people tell me that I make something look easy.

Rep by rep, day by day, we add layers. Going from a square, to a pentagon, to a hexagon, and if you keep up with it long enough it’ll eventually look smooth ♾🔄➰
