To us, winning this challenge is more than the $25K cash prize (which in itself is incredible). It’s the opportunity to work with two leading organizations in the senior care industry to make an impact in the lives of seniors, their caregivers, and beyond.

AGE-WELL is Canada’s technology and aging network for seniors, and SE Health is one of the largest players in the hospital and senior care industries. Together, the two organizations have been looking for the most impactful technologies in senior care Canada-wide and UVX is honored to be one of them.

The University of British Columbia has had immense global influence at overcoming COVID-19, with UVX founders Kunal and Saimir recently recognized by UBC for their contributions at combating the pandemic and reducing other infection risks moving forward.

From UBC’s novel drug delivery system that enable Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna to create mRNA vaccines, to being the first university in the world to publish structural images of the Alpha variant spike protein at near-atomic resolution to assess antibody treatments, we’re honoured to be recognized amongst very important technologies spinning out of the UBC ecosystem.
