Get ready! Our Team BC Para Ice Hockey High-Performance Evaluation Camp is coming up on November 7-8 at the Richmond Olympic Oval.

This camp is open to all para hockey players in BC interested in pursuing provincial team opportunities, including selection for Team BC at the National Para Hockey Championships, hosted in Richmond, BC.

In-person evaluations are required to confirm Team BC selections and tournament participation. We strongly encourage athletes from outside the Lower Mainland to attend in person wherever possible. If travel is not feasible, please contact us directly to discuss a virtual testing option so you can still participate in the evaluation process

Travel assistance may be available to eligible participants as well.

If you have any questions about our provincial athlete pathways or our evaluation camps, please reach out to Claire at [email protected]

What a great week of para hockey development!

In collaboration with Hockey Canada, participants came together for an athlete development session, coach development session, and a para hockey try-it experience. A huge thank you to all athletes, coaches, volunteers, and Hockey Canada staff who helped make this event possible and supported the growth of para hockey in our community.

SportAbility is saddened to share the news of the passing of Hussein Mawji.

A fixture in the BC Boccia community, Hussein was an incredible father and performance partner to his son, Hanif, supporting him as they competed across Canada and the globe. This included joining Hanif at the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games and the 2015 Parapan Am Games in Toronto (where Hanif won a silver and bronze medal).

Hussein was also a dedicated volunteer, serving as a provincial boccia referee and treasurer for CCPSA.

Hussein's dedication, support, and passion leave an incredible mark on the Boccia community, and he will be sorely missed.

Our thoughts are with the Mawji family and all of those who knew Hussein in this difficult time.
