What if’s and why for’s not only detract from the material to be practised but also reduce the time available to learn the sequence.

Once that is achieved and is recallable in a week’s time THEN ask a relevant question.
Avoid what if’s though, as my favourite response is ‘if a piano falls on your head?’

What if’s are answered in sparring sessions, not controlled drills designed to develop autonomous reflexes.
