Our clients and their goals are everything.

2. Keep things fresh and varied.

Experience Trumps Theory
Never request something of someone we haven’t done ourselves.

Just because a new fad or hardcore workout is the new craze, it does not mean that it suits or is safe for everyone.

So proud to have Ashton Perry representing inaugural step into the ring at the Buckskin Gloves Friday Feb 20th . This dude has put in the work and is ready to shine on a very special night…

Tomorrow nights Buckskin Gloves Event will celebrate skill in the ring, but will also honor the history. During the Residential School era, boxing was one of the few ways Indigenous youth could express their strength while their cultures were being suppressed. For many, the Buckskin Gloves wasn’t just a sport—it was a survival tactic and a way to reclaim the ‘Warrior’ title when the system tried to take it away.

Tomorrow night isn’t just a revival; it’s a reclamation. Fighting in the light now, and honoring those who fought through the shadows.

There are limited tickets still available if you’d like to be a part of this powerful night. Come join us !

Throwback to when @ufc & @cw_arrow worlds came together for a little meet, greet, sweat. Fitting for what happened this past Saturday at Orlando’s Fight NIght…

Amongst others fighting cancer or losing their battle to it, the UFC paid tribute to the tragic loss of @eliastheodorou at a mere 34yrs of age. It served as a reminder to all of us watching how fragile life can be; even to the greatest of warriors.
My heart goes out to his family and friends. It was an honour to meet and spend some time with him and I am so sorry for your loss.

On this same night, the other warrior that joined him here in Vancouver @wonderboymma put on an unforgettable display of fight, grit, technique and sportsmanship. Once again, he seized his moment and left it ALL in the ring.

I don’t know about you but the loss of someone I know, especially much too soon, gets me thinking. Then watching a war like Stephen’s makes me think more. Looking back on these clips makes things even that much more significant…

So yes, I’d like to share a few words….

Life is about moments & memories. We can honour those like Elias and loved ones we have lost by not taking for granted the fact that we are still fortunate to create that which they cannot. I’m going to let it fuel me when I need it.
I hope maybe you will too?

So stoked to look back on this day. What a special one it was for me all fan boying ….☺️

To moments!!!

RIP Elias ❤️ 12/09/2022

That’s a wrap!

For 10 years was my home. Looking back and digging into photo albums of thousands of memories hit me almost as hard as finishing my final class last night. I think Zoe is feeling it too…
-
Condensing 10 years of memories into a 1min video is impossible but I do want to use it to pay tribute to as many as I can that made infighting so special for me. We laughed, we cried, I got sworn at, punched, kicked ….. in the end we are all better for it. At least I like to think so….
-
To the Infighting team, Ritchie, Blair, Meego, Ian, I love you guys and I thank you for making Infighting such a safe, welcoming environment for all that came down those stairs. Especially those that you could see were nervous about walking into a martial arts gym for the first time.
You are all amazing examples of checking one’s ego at the door. It was inspiring to see the students embracing that same attitude with one another. The energy in the gym stemmed from this. Just one of the many things I’ve learned working alongside you all.

And so it goes…..

The NEW YEAR will be an exciting time and I can’t wait to share the next chapter with you all!
Not going anywhere too far as some of you know. Just a minor change of venue is all. Same blood, sweat, tears and laughs. Some things can’t change too much.

Don’t worry, Zoe will be there too.

Thank you all for having been, and the many of you that are still, a part of my life.
❤️

Thanks to Presence24 Production’s Ravi Kumar we got to take a walk down memory lane and revisit a pretty special moment with one of my best friends; Junior Moar’s 2011 Light Heavyweight title defense at the River Rock Casino in Vancouver, BC.

Ravi followed our fight camp from start to finish and this documentary captured the incredible journey we all took together.

“Defending the Title” illustrates what it takes to overcome whatever life throws at you, step into the ring and show up as your best.

For some much younger, fresher faces but ageless fight philosophy, I’d love for you to have a watch and let us know what you think 😊

Pro Vs Joe

The power that is Junior Moar - as indicated by a game Mr. Rak holding pads wishing he was catching fastballs barehanded instead.

Train with people that inspire you! Imitate their style, technique, drive and/or intensity. But don’t expect to imitate power, toughness or skill. THERE ARE LEVELS TO EVERYTHING.

Like one of my Dad’s golf partners said when he would get bent out of shape on the course: “You’re not good enough to get that angry.” Tough, but fair 😅
Pros are pros for a reason and we all gotta start somewhere.

T3 Tip: Video analysis is one of my favourite ways to see what needs work; for myself and my students. When you feel you’re doing everything right, video steps up and learns you. Love it. Use it. It helps.

Can you see one thing I’m doing wrong? Hint: Check my shoulders on the last hook & then watch the champ do it.🧐

Love training with these guys . Nothin’ but good times fellas!
