Breathing isn’t just automatic — it’s one of the most powerful tools you have for performance, recovery, and stress regulation 🫁✨
In kinesiology, we look at how breath directly impacts the vagus nerve — the key to shifting your body out of “fight or flight” and into “rest and recover” 🧠➡️🧘♀️
When you slow down your breathing (especially your exhales), you can:
• Lower stress levels 😌
• Improve recovery 🔄
• Enhance core stability 🏋️♀️
• Reduce injury risk ⚖️
• Boost exercise performance 🚀
Your breath = your foundation 🧱
If your breathing is shallow or out of sync with movement, your body compensates ⚠️ But when it’s intentional and controlled, everything works better — from strength to stability to focus 💪🎯
Try this:
Inhale for 4 ⏱️
Exhale for 6–8 ⏱️
Simple, but powerful ✨
Breath is something we often overlook in training — but in kinesiology, it’s where everything starts 🌿

✨Team highlight ✨
Please welcome our newest kin: Jericho
Jericho’s passion for rehabilitation and human movement began through sport. Growing up playing rugby, he developed a deep appreciation for training, performance, and the constant pursuit of improving on the field. Rugby also showed him how physically demanding sport can be and how quickly injury can threaten the activities that shape who we are. That experience sparked a lasting interest in rehabilitation: understanding how the body recovers, adapts, and returns to doing what matters most. Jericho later pursued this passion at the University of British Columbia, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology.
For Jericho, rehabilitation is about more than recovering from injury; it’s about preserving independence and quality of life. Whether that means getting back to a favourite sport, keeping up with children or grandchildren, managing household tasks with confidence, or simply enjoying a hike or bike ride on a beautiful Vancouver day, Jericho works with clients to restore the movement that matters most to them. He also strongly believes in the value of prehabilitation, which involves building strength, resilience, and better movement habits before injuries occur. His goal is to create programs that are practical, supportive, and tailored to each individual’s lifestyle and goals.
During his undergraduate studies, Jericho worked as a student kinesiologist, gaining experience supporting a diverse range of clients, including young children, professional athletes, cancer survivors, individuals with osteoporosis, and patients living with dementia. While rehabilitation is now his primary focus, Jericho continues to explore movement in his own life through swimming, hiking, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and Muay Thai. He believes that staying active in many forms helps him better understand and support the diverse goals of the people he works with.

✨ Team Highlight: Anais ✨
Anais’ love for movement started early — she first stepped onto the ice as a figure skater at just 4 years old ⛸️ From there, sports, exercise, and human performance became a lifelong passion.
After exploring multiple sports and developing a strong interest in health science, Anais earned her BSc in Kinesiology from Brock University (2014). Since then, she’s worked across rehabilitation, health science research, and fitness settings, bringing a well-rounded, evidence-based approach to every client she works with.
Anais specializes in helping people recover from injury, build strength, and get back to the activities they love. Her sessions combine corrective exercise, strength training, and client education — all thoughtfully tailored to individual goals. Expect workouts that are engaging, challenging, and always purposeful 💪
When she’s not in the clinic, you’ll find Anais hiking, skiing, cycling, or cooking with friends. She believes lifelong learning is key to maintaining a healthy body and mind — and that mindset shows in everything she does.
We’re so lucky to have her on the team 🤍

As we get older, good balance becomes essential for staying active, confident, and independent. The good news? Balance can be trained at ANY age. 🙌
Here are 4 simple exercises older adults can start with:
1️⃣ Single-Leg Stance – Builds ankle + core stability
2️⃣ Heel-to-Toe Walk – Improves gait and coordination
3️⃣ Sit-to-Stand – Strengthens legs for daily tasks
4️⃣ Standing March – Boosts dynamic balance
✨ Benefits include:
✔ Fewer falls
✔ Better posture
✔ More confidence
✔ Stronger core + legs
✔ Easier daily movement
Small daily practice = big long-term results. 💪
