Mondays are for glutes and hamstrings this programming block at Citizen! 🍑

We are a few weeks into our latest programming block where we are working on building our posterior chain strength through conventional deadlifts and hamstring accessories!

We like to tackle our biggest muscle groups at the start of the week after people have let their bodies rest and reset over the weekend- this is so we can maximise effort, muscle growth and strength!

What does “Effort = Change” mean? 🤔

At Citizen Gym we’ve seen hundreds of people walk through our doors, put IN the effort, and take OUT some form of positive change in their lives.

We’ve seen physical change.
From losing weight, to building muscle, to regaining strength after injury.

We’ve seen mental change.
A clearer mindset, more confidence, less stress, and a place to switch off from everyday life.

We’ve seen lifestyle change.
People building consistency, finding community, and becoming stronger both inside and outside the gym.

The formula is simple: Effort = Change ❤️

JOIN US for…Reps in the Park Community Partner Workout 🏃‍♂️

🗓️Date: Sunday, June 14 @ 9am
📍Location: Camosun Park - 4102 w 16th Ave

What: A partner workout in our typical Sunday style, brought outside to the track (yes, we will be running in this workout)

Details: Teams of 2, capped at 15 teams, 30 participants total. Only one team member will register on Wodify. Members only.

Coffee and energy snacks to follow - bring a lawn chair or blanket to hangout!

🔥 MEMBER OF THE MONTH: ZOZK “Z” 🔥

Not only is Z one of the hardest workers in the room, he’s also one of the friendliest. 👏

He always takes the time to say hello to everyone, cheer people on at the end of workouts, and bring positive energy into every class he walks into.

There’s always a good challenge in class: “Can I keep up with Z?”
The answer is usually no… but we love the challenge regardless 😅💪

Z, thank you for being such a positive force in our community and for pushing everyone around you to be better every day. 👏

Hands up if you love burpees 🙌🏼🙌🏾🙌🏿

It’s a real live hate relationship with burpees isn’t it? Some people love them, some people hate them!

But one thing we know is in terms of raising your heart rate, using multiple muscle groups, challenging our mobility and explosive power… there’s nothing quite like it!

OUR NEXT 6 WEEK BLOCK STARTS NOW. 🔥

This cycle is built around one thing…overload.

We’ll be developing Deadlift + Strict Press strength through progressive loading, higher intensity efforts, and full body strength work every Friday.

Murph prep is officially underway, so expect:
• Running volume
• Bodyweight capacity
• Steady state engine work
• High intensity intervals

The goal?
Build strength without losing conditioning.
Improve capacity without sacrificing intensity.

6 weeks to push harder, move better, and build real resilience. 💪
