Uttanasana (standing forward bend) opens the entire backside of the body, from your heels to your scalp. This pose has a TON of health benefits to accompany the physical benefits..

Forward folding is more about looking inward. Its cooling and calming, reducing anxiety to help relax our minds.

Going upside down and reversing the flow of gravity has many benefits to our organs like the heart, lungs, liver and kidneys, reversing the flow of prana (energy).
Inversions also reduce wrinkles in your face by reversing the flow of gravity!

To emphasize this benefit more than the effect on your legs and take a more passive approach, bend your knees for a ragdoll expression of a forward fold.

Whichever of these benefits excites you the most, know that even one forward fold per day has the potential to create positive change in your life.

Hey Runners.

Heres a multi muscle stretch for after a good hard/long run.

A variation of , which targets the quads, hip flexors, glutes, IT's, calves, shins and those tired feet.

Begin in down dog, raise up your right leg and bring the right knee to right wrist resting on the mat. Slide your left leg behind you, toes tucked or un-tucked.
Dependant on your bone anatomy, you may be able to get a 90 degree with the knee and ankle in line of your front mat, if there is any pain in the knee joint, bring your heal in closer to your groin (like me). Flex the right toes to protect your knee on the right side.
Bend your left knee and catch your foot with your left hand and bring it closer towards you to feel the opening in the left hip and quadricep muscle.
