CurlFit is back with new classes for 2024 at the Vancouver Curling Club. We will be holding sixteen CurlFit classes at the club this Spring — with a new format.

The classes are 45-minute fitness-style classes and you can drop-in to the classes that fit your schedule. Just buy a class-pack and come to the classes that work for you.

In these CurlFit classes you will build strength, improve your core, steady your stability, calibrate your cardio AND improve your game. You will learn to enhance your strength, stability, and overall athleticism on (and off) the ice through the use of resistance bands, weights with strength- and endurance-focused training.

Classes are Sunday mornings at 8:30am and Tuesday evenings at 5:30pm (see exact dates below). This season we are selling class packs which you can use on a drop-in basis.

This season at VCC (Vancouver Curling Club) we have a new program for all curlers who want to build flexibility, strength, balance and power on (and off!) the ice.

Fellow VCC curler Stephen Ewashkiw created & leads the CurlFit program. Stephen is a yoga instructor, anatomy teacher, curling coach and fitness nerd, and he has partnered with VCC to help every curler who wants to find little bit more in their game.

It's a six-class series, with one 45-minute class each week. In each 45-minute session, we'll incorporate a mix of fitness, yoga, and stretching to prepare your body for the rigours of curling.

Classes are held in the boardroom and start the first week of November. The program is six weeks and you can choose which day/time suits you best from following options:
🥌 Thursday Series | 5:30-6:15pm (starts Nov 2)
🥌 Saturday Series | 9:30-10:15am (starts Nov 4)
🥌 Sunday Series | 9:30-10:15am (starts Nov 5)

You don't have to be flexible, young, strong, into fitness or have a yoga practice to come to CurlFit. CurlFit is for anyone who wants to find more stability, more strength, quicker recovery time, or a little more accuracy in their game.

Is CurlFit right for you? The answer is YES if any of these apply to you:
✔︎ Do you want more flexibility?
✔︎ Do you want more strength?
✔︎ Do you want better balance?
✔︎ Do you want to improve your stability when delivering?
✔︎ Do you have trouble repeating shots
✔︎ Do you struggle with "hitting the broom"?
✔︎ Do you want to sweep more effectively?
✔︎ Does your body hurts for a day (or more) after your game?
✔︎ Are you exhausted after sweeping for 13 seconds (which let's be honest feels like 200 seconds!)?

Find out more at https://vancurl.com/index.php/about-the-club/curlfit-101 or on the posters up around the club, or DM Stephen with your questions.
