🇵🇸 Congratulations to Lana Ghalayeni on her call-up to the Palestine Women’s U17 National Team!

Lana will represent Palestine in the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers in Vietnam this October, with the Asian Cup taking place in China in March 2027.

We are asking the BTB community to vote for the BTB Team of the Year 2026!

Your vote will account for 50% of the overall selection, with the BTB Technical Staff making up the remaining 50% of the final decision.

When voting, consider these 3 criteria:

1. Team Performance & Achievements
League, cup, provincial, national and tournament success.

2. Player Performance & Achievements
Individual player development, accomplishments, recognition and pathway progression.

3. Contributions to BTB & the Soccer Community

APDL Week 2 Male Player of the Week — George Sandy!

Congratulations to George Sandy on being named the BTB APDL Male Player of the Week!

George was dominant all weekend long.

On Saturday, George was called up to the 2010 APDL Boys team, where his 1v1 ability was on full display. He repeatedly beat his defender and created chances throughout the game, finishing with 2 assists in the 2010s’ 3–1 victory.

On Sunday, George was back with his own team and continued his outstanding weekend, scoring 2 goals against Calgary Foothills 2011 APDL to help BTB secure another 3–1 win.

4 goal contributions in 2 games!

APDL Week 2 Female Player of the Week — Amanda Alibo!

Congratulations to Amanda Alibo on being named the BTB APDL Female Player of the Week!

Amanda delivered another outstanding performance this week, scoring a big goal in our draw against Scottish. This comes after she also found the back of the net in our home opener last week.

From Coach Marcelo:

“Amanda was aggressive on the ball, creating a lot of 1v1 opportunities and pressing effectively to create Scottish turnovers. She also has an amazing, humble attitude to go along with it. She is exactly the DNA of what we are looking for in a BTB APDL player.”

Amanda continues to show confidence, aggression, work rate and humility every time she steps on the field.

Congratulations to former BTB 2009 players Barry Ogbolu and Ilan Hassan Farah on being called up to represent the Canada Soccer Men’s U-17 National Team in Switzerland!

Barry currently plays for LA Galaxy Academy in MLS NEXT, while Ilan currently plays for Halifax Wanderers FC in the Canadian Premier League.

Congratulations, boys! We are proud of you and wish you all the best in Switzerland!

BTB Soccer Club will be hosting our 2026 Award Celebration in November/December as we come together to recognize and celebrate the achievements of our players, and members throughout the year.

Our staff is currently reviewing nominations and selecting this year’s award recipients. Winners will be announced in due time.

Academic Excellence Award
The club will be contacting families directly regarding the Academic Excellence Award and the information required for consideration.

We look forward to celebrating another great year at BTB and recognizing the hard work, commitment, growth, and achievements of our players and club.

We would like to take a moment to thank all of our amazing coaches at BTB Soccer Club who dedicate countless hours to helping our players grow, not only as soccer players, but more importantly, as young people.

Your love, care, discipline, and commitment are evident in every training session, every game, and every interaction with our players.

Coaching is more than teaching the game. It is about building confidence, developing character, creating positive habits, and helping young people become the best version of themselves.

To all of our BTB coaches: we appreciate you, we value you, and we are grateful for all the hard work you put in every day.
