The Teen Centre is having an outing to Sound House - Honouring With Orange on Thurs. Sept. 29th from 5:45 - 9:30 pm. This outing is free and open to youth and their families. We have limited spots which also includes transportation to the Museum of Anthropology at UBC. If you would like to come with us please contact Barry via FB or drop by the Teen Centre. The Free Youth Swims are now twice per month. New games, activities and prizes. Next session happens on Friday, October 29th from 6 - 8 pm. Can't swim? Free lessons are offered during the first half-hour to learn how to swim.
Community Opportunity:
12-week free job-skills training program designed for:
- youth 19 to 29 (can make exception for 18 year old)
- Individuals that have aged out of care
- Indigenous youth
- young mothers
- survivors of violence
- new Canadians/permanent residents
- Someone looking to extend their culinary skills
The training program operates out of Union Gospel Mission's commercial kitchen (641 Columbia St, New Westminster) (2 minute walk from Columbia skytrain station, transit fare is provided daily to commute to the program and back home)
Resources and counselling support are available to all students before, during and after the training from Dan's Legacy's therapists
Early class is Monday to Friday: 1 pm to 5 pm
Late class is Monday to Friday: 3 pm to 7:30 pm
