PLEASE READ: Fighters with squeaky clean records or hardly any losses have often had opponents hand picked to help pad their records. One of the differences between the West and Asia is that fascination with a 0 on their resume.
I quickly learned in Thailand that they like to arrange very evenly matched bouts, which means the best will often fight the best. There’s no protecting people so they don’t get a blemish on their record.
As I often say to my students “it’s not where you start that’s important, but it’s where you finish that counts.” Below is an extract taken from Muay Thai Nerd

This is Hippy Singmanee, who is considered by many to be one of the top 10 greatest Nak Muay in history, maybe top 5 in terms of pure skill. During 1989 and 1990 Hippy has entered the ring 20 times (!). How many times did he come out of it a winner? A grand total of 4.

There are no perfect records in this sport. If you'll fight a lot and fight hard - you'll lose eventually, even if you're the a legend.

By the way, Nungubon Sitlertchai, who is one of the Nak Muay that beat Hippy in 1990, said in an interview that he considers Hippy to be the best of all time.

Hi everyone, here is an update on the gym. It will remain closed until further notice. I am still having major issues with my heath that need to be addressed. I am sorry, but at this point I must take care of myself before I can concentrate on anything else. I thought that this matter would have improved bu now but it has not. I want to thank everyone for their continued support a I will see you all soon. If you have any questions please feel free to DM me. Jason Fenton
