We have another satellite phone update from our campaign organizer Emily Hoffpauir:
RCMP have arrested ten more people at the the Caycuse exclusion zone checkpoint on McClure Main.
There have already been arrests at at least two other locations today, so probably ~20 on the day.
This marks the fifth straight day of arrests on unceded Ditidaht and Pacheedaht territories (50+ people total), as the old-growth crisis continues to intensify.
This situation is the direct result of the Horgan government’s inaction and broken promises on old-growth.

Trans Mountain will start clearing the trees in Burnaby soon and the RCMP are poised to remove the tree sitter there!
Workers and security are all over the forest and said they would start cutting trees as soon as possible. Cutting these trees will fill the salmon habitat below with debris that could smother any eggs.
If you’re able to drop by over the next few days, I know it would mean the world to the folks on the ground. You can get a good view of the area from the North Road overpass above the railway, just south of Highway 1 (Directions: http://bit.ly/3k96ZWc). Please also follow Protect the Planet - Stop TMX and stay tuned to the Wilderness Committee social media for updates. Make sure to follow COVID-19 measures!
If you don’t live in the area you can still take action. Call the Canadian Energy Regulator at (604) 666-3975 and tell them to stop the company from cutting the trees.
