Cabin season looks a little different depending on where you are.

For us, it often begins with cooler mornings, changing landscapes, and the first fire of the season.

A successful project begins long before construction.

Site access, climate, topography, views, and environmental considerations all play a role in shaping the design. Every decision that follows starts with understanding the landscape.

As a company that builds on the land, we carry a responsibility to recognize whose land it is.

Today, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we acknowledge that the places where we design and build sit on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of Indigenous Peoples, and we honour the knowledge, traditions, and stewardship they have carried across generations.

We encourage everyone to take time today to learn, listen, and support Indigenous voices, as we continue on the path toward truth, reconciliation, and mutual respect.

Why use wood on both the walls and ceilings? Consistent interior cladding creates visual continuity, highlights the structure, and allows natural materials to take centre stage.

Every BHC System starts as FSC-certified Canadian wood. Swipe through to see what that actually means, from forest to frame, and why we won't build with anything else.

Two A-frames, two different lives.

System 00 is a compact, seasonal escape you can build in a week. System 03 is a fully livable, all-season cabin with a complete interior. Swipe through to see how they compare.

Before you build one, you can stay in one. BHC Getaways connects our community with cabin owners across North America who open their doors to guests, this one included.

Shell up in as little as five days. Site conditions vary, but the sequence stays the same: frame, panels, envelope, glazing.
