Football British Columbia, Football BC, is pleased to welcome a new football club into membership with the organization. Based in North Langley, the Bears Bantam and Midget Football Association will begin competing in the 2026 fall tackle season and will participate in the Vancouver Mainland Football League. The Bears become the seventh new club to join Football BCβs membership since the adoption of its club-centred membership structure.
Football BC President Kevin Parks welcomed the Bears into membership. βEveryone at Football BC is delighted to welcome the βBearsβ club into our membership,β said Parks.
Speaking on behalf of the Vancouver Mainland Football League, VMFL President and U19 Chair Jason Gillis also welcomed the addition of teams from North Langley. βThe new North Langley teams will be a great addition to the Bantam and Midget divisions,β said Gillis. βThe new teams will also be eligible to compete for a place at the 2026 Provincial Championshipsβ.
Football BC Executive Director Keith Ryan highlighted the continued growth of Football BCβs affiliated club membership. βWe continue to welcome new clubs into our membership,β said Ryan. βThe Bears from North Langley represent the 30th minor football club affiliated with Football BC and continues the trend of our organization expanding into new communities across the province.β
