Two great exhibitions at the MOV, a place i didn’t know in Vancouver!
The art of Kent Monkman is just stunning and says so much about the so called human “civilizations”. His paintings are printed on skateboard decks which make his work even more interesting.
The other exhibit is about Neon has a part of Vancouver architectural history. What i didn’t know is that in the 60’s the neon mania created an intense discussion amongst Vancouverites around the visual pollution it created!
North America has been known for these colorful signs and seen from Europe as something typical since advertising in public space was under strict regulations in Europe. Interesting to see the different perspectives on this!
