Ray came to me in April with the goal of getting his nutrition on track after spending lots of time working towards his fitness goals with Coach Nick. I thought this would be the icing on the cake to get him towards his goals even faster!

Sadie came to me right when we started our business as she was doing the same program for too long and wanted to switch it up a bit. She told me she wanted to get huge, so I said alright let’s work!

Over the last three months of coaching her online, we’ve managed to make steady progress in lower body strength and hypertrophy. Despite a heavy school schedule studying Athletic Therapy and balancing two part time jobs, Sadie has been crushing her workouts and making time for her health and fitness goals. I can’t wait to see where her progress takes her!

As hard as it is for some people to believe, fitness is not as easy as just stepping foot in the gym.

We never want to tell our clients that only sticking to an exercise routine will help them lose the weight, get stronger, get healthier, etc… Because guess what? It’s not true!

The secret to achieving your fitness goals is to look at the picture as a whole. Nutrition, Exercise and Mindset. When even just one of these things are not working properly, the system isn’t able to function properly and you fall into bad habits that keep you stuck in the same cycles of setting goals and not achieving them.

How many times have you started a fitness regimen to then feel as though something was missing to get you to stick to it? You’re not alone…

Fostering a mind body connection during exercise is crucial to seeing results that are sustainable AND maintainable. Having a strong mindset is the foundation you resort to when training gets hard, you aren’t feeling motivated or you’ve hit a plateau. Without that foundation, it’s impossible to build a solid structure of healthy habits to get you to your goals.

We take this approach because we KNOW it works. We’ve seen it in ourselves and our clients who continue to make consistent progress in the gym and daily life.

We all know exercise and nutrition is critical to completing and achieving your goals, but have you ever thought about how sleep and mindset play a critical role?

When you have a high quality and quantity of sleep you allow your body the chance to repair itself. Most muscle growth cell repair happens during REM sleep as the body shifts its resources to the processes. We also see a reboot of the central nervous energy and function. Which means less crashing mid day!Lastly, deep sleep (or REM sleep) provides essential support to immune system which helps preventing illness in the future.

Now when it comes to mindset this has more of an impact on our health than many will admit. Ever heard of “eustress” aka positive stress? Adopting the mindset that stress can sometimes be helpful will not only reduce its negative effects, but harnessing it properly will also increase performance in stressful situations. Choosing to move through life with growth mindset rather than fixed has proven to result in better performance, increased learning, overall higher sense of self-efficacy and ability to make healthier choices. Your mindset plays such an important role in our health and longevity, so why not use it to your advantage?

We also want to stress the importance of the big picture. Achieving our goals doesn’t come from ONLY working out really hard, ONLY eating well, ONLY improving our mindset or ONLY sleeping well. It comes from all these areas working together all at once.

Remember there is no one remedy when it comes to health and longevity. Just like our bodies, it is a system that needs all of its parts functioning together to keep us alive and well.

Where did the concept that failure is “bad” come from? We can chose to see failure as something that hinders us, or we can chose to see it as an opportunity to learn and grow.

“I failed on my last set of deadlifts, I’ll never get it…” → “I should think about pushing my feet into the floor more next time, I’ll get it next time!”

Changing the mindset not only helps you see where you could improve, but continues to fuel you to be better and not deter you from trying again.
