EISENBERG EARNS PRESTIGIOUS MVB AWARD
Justin Eisenberg and his 20 goals, 7 assists and all around good nature earned the honor of being awarded the Most Valuable Bomber award. The award is only given during campaigns that end in a Bomber championship and Eisenberg was visibly moved by the receiving the honor voted on by his teammates. When asked for comments by the media after the awards ceremony Eisenberg commented "Thank you all for the honor of being named MVB! It’s truly a pleasure to play with you all and being part of the organization." Eisenberg's focus appeared to be looking forward though as he stressed the need for the "Bomb squad" to defend the cup and get out of the team's current funk. Eisenberg has been a big addition to the squad since his introduction as the "player to be named later" in the Silverman trade back in Fall 15 season. Silverman has sinced moved on to the Vegas Humperdinks of the Western Adult League circuit but Eisneberg has remained as a new staple for the Bomber hockey club. Eisenberg has mostly played with the Brothers Bochner since his arrival and the trio was the most productive line in the league in the Fall 17 season.

D-FORCE AWARD IS THREE WAY TIE
Rob Pellegrino, Dave Smith and Jason Rega finished in a three way tie for the Bombers D-Force award given to the team's best defenseman in a championship season. All three of the d-men were called into action eating up a bulk of the minutes on a backline that was perhaps the best in the league and the strength of the team in their Fall 17 Federal League Championship run.

DAVE BOCHNER WINS INAUGURAL VANDERHORN CITATION
With a strong season and a stronger playoff run Dave Bochner won the inaugural Van Der Horn Citation given to the player that best represents the team in a combination of skill and sportsmanship. Dave finished fourth in team scoring with 6 goals and 13 assists and went the entire season with going into the box. The late Neil Van Der Horn had 15 seasons in his Bomber illustrious career in which he had one minor penalty or less which was a manifestation of his sportsmanslike character. He did this all while being a top 10 player in team points goals and assists at the time of his passing.
This season was the third in a row Dave Bochner has not been penalized and combined with his point this season an obvious choice for the award.
Side Notes:
Had it been an award prior to this season and if the Bombers had won a few more titles, Dave's brother Mark might have won multiple Van Der Horn Citations. Mark has a minute total of 54 career penalty minutes in 314 games while scoring 391 points.

BOMBERSKATE PROVIDES HISTORIC MOMENT
Although the reporting is a bit delayed the accomplishment that happened at the last Bomberskate cannot be understated. An episode of the popular on ice gathering of Bombers past, present and future which has come to be known as the "Bomberskate" occurred recently and a very memorable moment came from the evenings activities.
Midway through the event, 72 year old Bomber icon Rober' Auld excited the crowd by scoring one of his familiar top of the crease snipes. Exciting as that was, the full story was completed a mere 14 seconds later. That is when 12 year old Zack Hoyer, whose adult league rights are owned by the Bombers, got loose on a breakaway . The young star provided some sweet dangle and lit the lamp after a sick deke.
The two goals bridged both 14 seconds and 60 years and represented what is great about the Bomber Hockey Club. The rich history enjoying the great game with its promising future.

SARGE SAYS GOODBYE-LONG LIVE THE LIEUTENANT
Dave "Sarge" Smith played his last game with the organization under that moniker. As has been reported his farewell is only a nickname change as the Sarge has been promoted to the office of Lieutenant! So we will have to call him Lou, or Louie or LT or if we forget maybe . . . Sarge? Time will tell.
