Vancouver GAA Championship 2026 - Ladies Senior Championship - Round 2

Our Senior ladies faced their oldest rival last Saturday, Fraser Valley.

Despite a slow start and going a goal down within the first few minutes, our ladies began to build momentum and started to settle down during this fierce encounter.

The midfield pairing Sarah Hourigan and Sarah Fabris were a driving through the centre keeping shape.

We held a fortress in the back line with Nicole Rooney, Lorraine Muckian, Tara Kelly and Ellen Atkinson who broke down the valleys attacking plays.

Saoirse Moore and Louise Brennan were on target, finding the back of the net and kept the scores coming.

A great team performance overall, with lots of our new players getting in their game time and into the swing of things for the year.

That’s 2/2 for the defending champions. Their next game against powerhouse St Finnians in a few weeks time.

Congratulations to the team and management on their win.

Vancouver GAA Championship 2026 - Men’s Junior Championship - Round 1

Our junior men’s kicked off their season last night with an epic opener vs Fraser Valley.

Both sides started off strong and the game was fairly match strength for strength.

Josh Fallon, Eamon Quinn and TJ Fox slotted home some impressive 2pters, which is something newly introduced this year, so both teams were getting in decent scores from the arc.

Captain Mick Fitz and Vice Captain Nick Fitz, both getting on the score sheet from the back line.

Stephen McCluskey and Killian Leonard were giving the Valley defence a lot to do, but they couldn’t hold off for long as Killian scored a crucial goal to edge the lads out.

A special extra shoutout to John Kelly for an impressive defensive stint in the backline. 👏🏼

Big shoutout to .hoban, the junior coach for getting the lads set and ready for action 👏🏼

The lads face Eire Og in the next Junior round on Wednesday June 10 at 7:30pm.

ℹ️ Transfers, Sanctions & Permits ℹ️

To all the young Irish heading here for the summer, you’re about to experience an unforgettable adventure.

Vancouver is full of energy, stunning scenery, and this year, people from all over the world will be travelling to the city for the 2026 World Cup.

Whether you’re playing competitively or just for fun, you’ll feel right at home lacing up the boots with our club.

Get stuck in, enjoy every moment, and make this summer one to remember.

Each club only gets 10x Sanctions (Football) and 10x Permits (LGFA), and each summer we get a lot of requests to play, so each sanction and permit applicant must contact the club directly and we will talk you through the process.

Sanctions and Permits are “loan” moves from your club in Ireland to ISSC for the summer months, with the intention of the loanee player returning to play with his/her club at home.

Applicants must have purchased AIG Insurance to be eligible for a permit and/or sanction.

The deadline for Sanctions and Permits is July 1, 2026.

Transfers are open all year for Men’s football, but the LGFA transfer deadline was Tuesday, March 31.

LGFA players can still join the club, if they have not played competitive football in 3 years.

Want to play? Get in touch. 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽

See you this summer, ISSC Abú 🔥💚💛

✨ International Womens Day ✨

Today, on International Women’s Day, we celebrate the incredible women of our Ladies teams.

Our ladies inspire, empower, and push boundaries both on and off the field.

Over the last couple of years, we’ve not only played the sport we love but also built a community where women from all walks of life come together to compete, support, and lift each other up.

From spring leagues, championships to tournaments, our journey has been nothing short of epic.

We are proud of every player who has worn the ISSC jersey and represented our club with pride, and we couldn’t be more excited about what’s to come.

To all the incredible women who make up our club, you are the heartbeat of our success.

Happy International Women’s Day 💚💛

Fancy a run around and a bit of craic? 🏉🇮🇪🏐

Whether you’re a fresh arrival or you’ve been out here long enough to start saying “Vancouver is actually quite dear,” it’s time to get the boots out of the suitcase.

We are hosting a Tag Rugby Social & Recruitment Day on Feb 28th.

We’re using the tag as an excuse for a run-around, but the real goal is getting the squads together ahead of the spring league. 💪🏽🏐

It’s just Tag Rugby for the day. Non-contact, handy enough, and a good way to shake off the winter rust.

It’s Free. Can’t argue with that. 😀

Drag your housemates or the lads from work along too. The more we have, the better the craic.

• Saturday, Feb 28th | 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
• Prince of Wales School, Kitsilano.

Come for the run, and dust off the boots.

It’s the best way to get settled in the city and find a proper community.

See you on then! 🏐💪🏽
