I’ll be so brutally honest with you right now…
I don’t always use social media in the best ways and I don’t think you do either.
Especially going through period recovery and the development of my ED I would use social media as a way to compare myself to others
“God damn she got her period back at a lower weight than me!”
“Why is she so lean with a period”
Finding all these reasons to be unhappy about my current situation and sometimes I thought I was vain af and it was wrong to have those thoughts. I should be more positive😢
But I’ve come to learn that everything has a shadow sister and as they say “the world was built for 2” - there’s good and bad, sun and moon, night and day, men and women, and so social media has had 2 impacts on me as well
One better than others, but what didn’t change was the social media it was me who changed my lens in how I saw it.
I used social media to destroy my self worth and I’ve also used it to become a version of myself I’m so incredibly proud of
Because you can find the good and bad in everything
And so while I’m so grateful for what social media has been able to do for me and the people I’ve been able to meet and connect with some of them turning into great friends
I still won’t be giving my kids a phone until they’re old 😂

Is that there is no magic pill or specific way to do one thing, there are a million
Just like you can get to one place by walking, taking the bus, driving, or flying same destination different travel times
A lot of you guys are walking, taking the comfort road or turning back too soon rather than sitting with the discomfort that comes with this journey
GENUINELY that’s just a disservice to yourself because you’re robbing yourself the skill of:
1. Self awareness and honesty
2. Being able to withstand discomfort in the absence of result
3. Resilience
All you want is your period but when that happens - and some days it feels like you’d do anything to get it back then other days you feel the realness of it and get scared
The reality of it is, growth is never going to feel GOOD lol it’s going to feel like breaking apart and building back up
