And with that, the 2026 winter season has come to an end… ✅

Last weekend, JUICE took on the March Madness OC6 Race sending out two Open boats, two Women boats, and five Mixed boats. The team names were inspired by our Saturday morning land practices and team breakfasts at our favourite HK-style cafe.

Huge thank you to and all the volunteers for hosting! We had a blast racing against everyone. What an amazing way to end the OC6 season as we transition back to our regular dragon boat practices.

As National Coaches Week comes to a close, we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible dedication and support our coaches provide in helping us grow into great paddlers. Your guidance means everything.

We’re also excited to introduce some new faces to our coaching team this season! Please join us in welcoming Jessica, Haymond, Eric, Emily, Earl, and Arthur as our 2026 JUICE and JUICEBOX coaches! Coming from the team themselves, they bring a wealth of experience and perspectives to our ever growing team!

From our beginnings in 2017, and .menard have been the heart and driving force behind JUICE. Through every practice, every race, and every high and low, they have shaped not only a crew, but a vision for paddling in Western Canada.

This Nationals marked their final competition with JUICE. As they step away from coaching, we celebrate not only their countless hours of dedication to the team, but also the legacy they leave behind. From creating and leading so many local teams to their years as the program directors for the Canadian 24U National Team, few individuals have given more to the next generation of paddlers.

While this marks the end of an incredible chapter, it’s not goodbye yet. Their impacts throughout the paddling community will be felt for seasons to come and we are thrilled to watch them continue their involvement in the sport we all love through the DZPC Competitive program.
From all JUICERs past and present: thank you for your belief, inspiration, and guidance. This team would not have existed without you both 🧡. You have left the team stronger than ever and we can’t wait to keep this momentum going.

Dragon Zone Paddling Club Nationals Recap 🏁

Paddlers from across Dragon Zone Paddling Club (.current, , and ) joined forces to put our best foot forwards in the Premier Women, Premier Open, and 24U Mixed divisions.

Our club had a historical showing. Most notably, our Premier Open crew accomplished Dragon Zone’s first ever full gold sweep in the Premier division, setting two Olympic Basin course records in the process! Our Premier Open and 24U Mixed crews successfully qualified for a berth to race at the 2026 Club Crew World Championships in Hualien, Taiwan! 🇹🇼

From cancelled flights, to rebooking the entire team the night before, and finally lining up against the best in the country, this Nationals journey has truly been a rollercoaster like no other! Against all odds, we made it to the start line to fight for our spot in Taiwan. ✈️

With our strongest showing to date, we came just shy of the podium in all three distances. That said, JUICE is thrilled to announce that we have qualified for the 15th Club Crew World Championships in Hualien, Taiwan next year! 🇹🇼
