$49 to $160 is not the same price jump as $119 to $189. Plus size customers aren’t more resistant to slow fashion they’re facing a larger price jump when it comes to making the switch. The options are fast, fast fashion on one side and slow, slow fashion, with very minimal choices in-between. Transitioning into slow fashion can feel out of reach without an entry point. That’s why we started our consignment section in both our Edmonton and Vancouver stores— because price is just the initial cost, it doesn’t determine cost per wear or actual long-term value of an item. Out of the hundreds of activities you can do in a Nettle’s Tale suit, here’s just five of our favourites that we’ve been doing on repeat - where are you wearing your suit?
POV you marketed your plus sizes a little too hard and now no one sees the XS, in XS to 4X or the size 6 mannequin standing beside the size 22 in the window. It’s also hard for our brains to comprehend when we’re so use to size segregation between brands and within stores between straight and plus sizes. Even brands we buy from can’t wrap their heads around the fact we don’t do a “different” buy for our straight and plus size customer, but we think you should be able to shop with your friend and have the same options!
