Another weekend, another round of cricket. π§β¬
All senior teams are back in action this weekend as we head into another busy round of BCMCL cricket.
Fresh off a four-from-four Saturday, the runs, wickets and vibes are flowing.
Whether you're chasing hundreds, defending 91, or simply contributing intangible qualities that don't appear on scorecards, good luck to everyone representing the orange and black this weekend.
See you around the grounds.

The Vs travelled to Surrey on Saturday to take on Burrard 2 at AHP Matthew Elementary, a ground thoughtfully designed to develop several key cricketing skills.
One boundary featured a hill with grass approaching knee height, providing an additional fielder at no extra cost. The other boundary encouraged players to improve their ball-finding abilities among the trees.
The day began positively with one of the two umpires arriving on time, which by BCMCL standards is practically overstaffed.
Norm won the toss and chose to bat first on a slightly damp, slightly skiddy pitch.
Omer and Yug got things underway with matching scores of 1, proving teamwork really does make the dream work. Norm then produced a captain's knock of 25 from 59 balls, helping lay the platform for what can only be described as a competitive total.
That total was 91.
Special mention goes to W. Ides, who top-scored with 36.
Fraser then arrived to steady the ship with 7* from 36 balls. The innings contained no boundaries, very little risk, and an extraordinary commitment to the defensive forward press. Unfortunately wickets continued falling around him.
Five LBWs were awarded during the day. Opinions on these decisions remain available upon request. Ask Joel.
All out in 29 overs.
Lunch followed.
With 91 on the board, expectations were appropriately modest.
At 39/4 after 20 overs, the game remained delicately balanced.
Then the bowlers got to work.
Akshat produced one of the most economical spells seen this side of the Fraser River, finishing with 2/12 from 9 overs, including 46 dot balls and two maidens.
Eranga ripped through the middle order with four wickets before Mazher wrapped things up with four of his own.
Against all available evidence, Meraloma won by 13 runs.
All four Meraloma senior teams won on Saturday, which naturally led to a celebratory visit to Browns afterwards where the cricket improved considerably.
Sometimes cricket isn't about scoring hundreds.
Sometimes it's about making 91, defending it, questioning several LBWs, and somehow ending the day with a win.
A proper club cricket masterpiece. π§β¬π

Some standout performances from around the club this weekend. π
π Sam Noster β 56 (59)
Helped guide the 1s to a thrilling chase against Centurions, sharing key partnerships with Jed and Kieran along the way.
π Ethan Campbell β 93 (125)
A superb knock for the 2s, falling just short of a deserved century while leading the chase against Cosmos.
π― Parth Kalra β 5/33 (9)
Five wickets, 43 dot balls and two maidens as the 3s bowled Abbotsford out for 91.
Plenty of contributors across the club, but these three earned a special mention this week. π§β¬

Congratulations to Maren Couch on representing Canada on the recent Women's U19 tour to Trinidad & Tobago.
The squad enjoyed a successful tour, recording a series win over Trinidad & Tobago along with strong performances against academy opposition.
Representing your country is a special achievement, and everyone at Meraloma is proud to see one of our own wearing the maple leaf.
Congratulations, Maren, and thank you for representing both Canada and the Lomas with distinction. π§β¬

All teams in action this weekend. π§β¬
The 1s (Saturday) and 2s (Sunday) are both at Connaught, the 4s are just up the road at Trafalgar, and the 3s get the rare honour of a 2pm start in a shortened 35-over clash.
The forecast has gone from "summer is here" to "this is still Vancouver" in record time, but we'll be out there regardless.
See you around the grounds this weekend.
Runs. Wickets. Questionable weather forecasts.
Aura optional.
