Meraloma Cricket Club We exist to create a fun and excitement-filled summer for all players, families and friends to enjoy.

The Meraloma Cricket Club is one of the most successful AND most social cricket clubs in Canada - based in the Kitsilano neighbourhood of Vancouver, British Columbia. We will be hosting a number of shindigs that cater for just about everyone’s tastes, from club BBQ's to theme nights at our sponsors location to regular get togethers for all at 'The Dome'. However, as the saying goes, "you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink" - we are relying on you, the players, supporters, families and friends of the Meraloma Cricket Club, to attend these days and nights and make them a success. By building relationships off the field we can develop stronger links throughout the grades and continue to develop the Club and keep our success going long into the future. We are part of the Meraloma Club - which with 6 sporting sections and over 900 active members is the largest amateur sports club in Canada.

A season to be proud of. 🧡🖤

As we wrap up our 38th year of Meraloma Cricket, there’s plenty to reflect on from 2026.

The club continued to grow, adding a new T20 side and creating more opportunities for players across the club. The 1s put together another 13-win season, reached the Elite Division final and brought home the John Ross Robertson Trophy as Western Canadian champions.

Across the rest of the club there were plenty of strong individual performances, a 10-win season for the 4s, more than 50 juniors across Kanga, U14 and U17, continued growth in the women’s program, and another year of young Lomas making the step into adult cricket.

A huge thank you goes to our captains, coaches, committee members and volunteers who put in countless hours behind the scenes, as well as Sam Noster for everything he has brought to the club as coach over the past two seasons, and our Dome Boys — Jack, Ethan and Jed — for everything they contributed on and off the field.

Most importantly, the spirit of Loma cricket continues to be what makes this club special.

What a night. 🧡🖤

A huge thank you to everyone who came out for Awards Night 2026 and helped us celebrate another Lomas season.

More than 80 tickets sold, a packed club, plenty of awards, plenty of food, and maybe one or two drinks along the way.

A big thank you to for the catering, and to Duncan Webb for organising it all and making sure everyone was very well fed.

Thanks to Rishan for keeping Zeffy in check — he knows what he did.

And a very special thank you to Sarah for putting up with us and serving b**r all night. Truly heroic work.

Thanks as well to everyone who helped set up, present, clean up, move things around, solve problems, and generally make the night happen.

Most of all, thanks to the entire club for being such an awesome group of people. Our “brand of cricket” is about a lot more than what happens on the field — it’s the people, the friendships, and everyone who keeps showing up and making the club what it is.

Last night was a pretty good example of that.

Already looking forward to doing it all again next year. 🏏

Our 2026 Special Award winners. 🧡🖤

🏆 PRESIDENT’S CUP — JED WIGGINS

Awarded by the President to the club’s leading overall performer, the President’s Cup recognises excellence across the season. Jed was outstanding for the 1s, scoring 421 runs at 30.07 and taking 24 wickets at 21.67.

His consistency with both bat and ball made him one of the biggest contributors to the 1s’ season and a huge part of the group that reached the Elite Division final.

🧡 CLUB PERSON OF THE YEAR — FRASER ALLEN

Recognised for contributions to the club and services to cricket off the field.

📈 MOST IMPROVED — SHASHI BILLA

The Most Improved award recognises growth from one season to the next, development across the year, and the contribution a player makes to the teams they represent.

Shashi made a big step forward this season, moving between the 4s and 3s and consistently making an impact. He finished the year with an outstanding 30 wickets at 12.73 and became an increasingly important contributor wherever he played.

🏏 SAM NOSTER COACH’S PLAYER OF THE YEAR — RAHUL BALI

The Coach’s Player award is about much more than statistics. It recognises effort, commitment, attitude and the work a player puts in throughout the season.

Rahul was consistently early to practice, often the last to leave, always looking to improve and always willing to contribute. He brought a great attitude to training and was exactly the kind of teammate and club person coaches love having around.

A very deserving winner.

Across the 1s, 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s, T20, U17s and Women’s teams, these are the players recognised by their teammates and captains for their performances and contributions across the season.

Another Meraloma Rebel Tour in the books. 🧡🖤

Our end-of-season trip to Vancouver Island is something we look forward to every year — a little bit of cricket, a little bit of sightseeing, and a very respectable amount of b**r drinking disguised as a cricket tour.

This year brought two brilliant T20s hosted by Metchosin Cricket Club at the picturesque Beacon Hill Park. Honours were shared, cricket was the winner, and a great day was had by all.

A big thank you as well to The Sticky Wicket, Whistle Buoy Brewing, The Drake Eatery and Darcy's Pub Downtown for looking after us in the evenings and helping with the other important part of tour preparation.

We then headed up-Island for a proper Sunday 35-over game at the historic cowichancricketclub. Huge thanks to Howard and the lads for the warm welcome, a spectacular tea, and another excellent game of cricket.

Awesome weekend, awesome hosting, and an awesome bunch of guys representing the Meraloma Rebel XI.

Thanks to everyone who made the weekend what it was. Already looking forward to the next one. 🍻🏏
