The Lykopis Workshop is excited to announce the return of Blacksmithing with Russ Smalley! Starting with Intro to Blacksmithing on Oct. 24 Russ will guide participants in the process of crafting your own cloak pin from copper or steel. On Nov. 14 Beginner Blacksmith takes place and those arm muscles will get a workout swinging the hammer while you create a coat hook! Russ will assist to in designing something uniquely your own. On Nov. 21 those who have completed either Intro or Beginner can join up in the Intermediate Blacksmithing Workshop where you will put those skills learned to work smithing either a ‘Viking’ utility knife or a Roman utility knife. (You can swing over to Lykopis for Leather Crafting to make your own personalized sheath) To bring all you’ve learnt together the big project is in Advanced Blacksmithing; a Nordic Puuko! Blacksmiths will craft their Blade with Russ and their hilt with Patricia choosing from a variety of wood.
