Happy New Bike Day to this happy dad! They stopped by to chat with us about small cargo bikes. They were in a small space and wanted a low stand over height plus only had one kiddo to transport. They are hoping to spend more quality outdoor time with their little one. After chatting a bit they also decided that the wanted a Muscle 💪 cargo bike not an electric. They just described perfectly the Muskel This bike has a basket that folds and with a 16” wheel in the front and a 20” wheel in the back it’s shorter than a standard bike. With the basket unfolded there is room for two kiddos or loads of gear. All our muli Muskel have an 11 speed Alfine and dynamo lights to climb hills with ease and always see and be seen. Happy New Bike Day to this (current) family of 3! They have been coming to the Vancouver shop since we opened for service with their two matching mid tail cargo bikes. They have been trading pick ups and drop offs of their one Kiddo on their way to and from work successfully for a couple years but always had their eye on a front loading box bike. They loved their bikes but as the kiddo got bigger they could feel the weight more, and they were always looking for space in panniers and on racks to tuck something or strap something down. Plus the fact that the bikes they owned don’t have an official rain cover so they had to adapt something. All this to say that a big push wasn’t needed to help them decide to get a box bike, but a big push is what they got when they found out they are expecting twins! They decided then and there to get a front loader with 3 kid’s seats to start planning for the future and to say goodbye to the bygone era of one kiddo. Happy New Bike Day to this family! They recently relocated to Vancouver from a much less bike friendly city and the first thing they did was sell their second car and plan for biking everywhere as a family. Dad got a cargo bike in their old city and brought it with them and mom bought a regular ebike. This worked great for a while but mom got tired of towing a trailer for a kiddo and also having a tall bike that was challenging to maneuver and park, especially for a shorter rider. They came in and asked for a bike with a heavy duty rear rack for kids and stuff, a strong centre kickstand, a low step through and seat height plus a powerful motor. Having finally sold their car and gone all in on the car free lifestyle they wanted a bike for bigger grocery runs plus carrying their small dog.
