Here are a few reminders in helping you achieve your goals for the New Year!

1. Write your goals down - Writing your goals down gives you a plan/vision with a timeline. It allows you to track your progress overtime. Without a goal you will be spinning in circles without a sense of direction.

2. Be the hardest worker - You don't have to be the fittest person in the gym to see amazing results. You must be willing to put in the work to reach your goals. Nothing is handed to you, you must pay your dues to acheive your goals.

3. Patience - Our body takes time for adaptations to occur. Don't look for the quick fix as it usually results into unhealthy decisions for your body.

4. Consistency - In order for you to achieve your goals you must be consistent with your training. Even on the days you are crunched for time make the effort to go to the gym. Just remember each session is a step closer to your goal. Even a 15 minute workout is better than not working out at all.

5. Challenge yourself - Put yourself in a situation that challenges you mentally or physically. Whether it be squeezing out an extra few reps on your set or pushing yourself harder on your sprints by fighting through the lactate buildup to improve your sprint time. Adaptations occur when we apply the principle of "progressive overload." Learn to push yourself a little more each session πŸ’ͺπŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

With the holiday season coming up, everyone will soon be making New Years resolutions. Why not start your resolutions early and get ahead on your health and fitness goals. Make exercise or daily physical activity a priority all year long! Don't think of it as a phase during certain times of the year. Think of exercise as a long term investment for your health. The hard work put in combined with consistency results in a better return in the long run. Remember to keep moving this holiday season!!

Remember to work on the muscles you can't see in the mirror! Swiss Ball Hamstring Curls are an excellent way to hit both your glutes and hamstrings. To benefit from this exercise make sure to have your hips in full extension as you draw the ball in towards you. Try it out with both feet on the ball then progress to single leg once it gets too easy!

Tired of the treadmill or the elliptical? Want a another way to get your conditioning in while being quick and efficient. Incorporate interval training with the Assault Air Bike! Try 5 rounds of 15 second bursts to start off! Add a 30 second rest in between. The harder you push the harder you work πŸ’ͺ
