This is the bridge between pure learning (U9) and the competition phase (U13). Standings are introduced but take a backseat to learning.

🟧🟧🟧 Phyllis Webstad is from the Stswecem’c Xgat’tem (pronounced “STEW-semp HAH-tem”) First Nation, in the Cariboo region of British Columbia near Williams Lake.

When she was six years old, her grandmother bought her a bright new orange shirt for her first day of residential school. But when she arrived, the shirt was taken from her. She never got it back.

That small act came to symbolize a much bigger truth: the way Indigenous children had their identities, families, and cultures stripped away. 🧡

Today, we honour Phyllis’s story, the children who never returned home, and the survivors whose strength carries forward. Every Child Matters 🧡
