Dealing with procrastination is as human as walking on two feet. We all deal with it in different ways, but why? Why do most of us know what we need to do but so rarely get around to doing it? My goal with this video is to help you finally free yourself once and for all from procrastination by using an incredibly easy 4 step formula.
The specific reasons for why people procrastinate will vary from individual to individual. However, as far as I can tell it comes down to one thing. Avoiding pain.
This could be physical pain like procrastinating a trip to the dentist or going to the gym. But it can also be mental or emotional pain. Doing your homework is mentally painful. Having a difficult conversation with someone is emotionally painful.
By default, humans are hardwired to avoid pain and move towards immediate pleasure and gratification. It just so happens that most of the goals we set for ourselves have rewards that exist far into the future. Achieving those goals often requires a great deal of pain and perseverance to get to.

My guest today is Michael Toru, an incredibly skillful yogi, hand balancer, and movement specialist.
Earlier this year I met Michael at my local gym here in Victoria, Studio 4 athletics. I had been trying to learn handstands for some time and, Michael being an incredible handstand teacher, gave me a few tips in passing that instantly and drastically improved my handstands.
Michael’s story of how he came to learn and eventually teach yoga, movement, and breathwork is a very impactful one. Like all great teachers, Michael began his journey in search of answers to his questions and solutions to the problems he was facing, one of which was life threatening.
In our conversation, Michael shares his understanding of ancient yogic philosophy and the important role it can play in modern life. With life moving faster each day, taking a moment to relax into your body and be present with yourself seems to be the medicine we all desperately need.
We also talk about psychedelics, yoga off the mat, and creating energizing morning routines that suit your individual lifestyle.

Life is nothing without meaningful, fulfilling relationships. Whether it’s the relationships you have with friends, family members, significant others, or the people you work with, meaningful connections with the people you care about is what makes life worth living.
But most relationships lack the most important ingredient for long-term success: communication.
The foundation of a healthy relationship is communication. We want to feel understood and accepted by our partners, friends, family members, and co-workers. Of course, they also want the same from us.
But all too often our relationships are riddled with cracks in the foundation. We don’t feel understood. We don’t feel like we are being listened to. We don’t feel like the affection, time, and energy we are putting into the relationship is being returned to us. And it hurts.

Sebastian Valensi is a modern day renaissance man, having a deep knowledge of spirituality, martial arts, yoga, mindfulness, personal development… the list goes on.

I was actually inspired to start my podcast after Chloé reached out to me asking if I’d be on hers.
Chloé Garnham is the host of the Planty Podie podcast, that’s on Instagram, where she interviews well known vegan advocates like doctors, fitness influencers, and recipe creators.
Chloé grew up on a farm in New Zealand, so her story of how she became vegan is an interesting one. In our conversations, Chloe shares how her switch to a vegan diet improved her health and enjoyment of life drastically.
