Just one week after competing at Senior Nationals, one of our coaches and athlete nails a jerk ~4kg above the provincial record
183.7kg (405lbs)

with a 130kg sn**ch. He also finished with a 162kg clean and jerk at this years Nationals! Wyatt is working hard to accomplish his goals he has set for himself. It is just the beginning for this young athlete. 💪

It is always nice to be able to teach school PE classes again. We had a great class today and as always, enjoyed sharing the sport of Olympic weightlifting.

The clean deadlift is an accessory exercise for the clean. The key here is staying “mid foot” through the first pull. A lot of beginner lifters will shift their weight back too much on their heels and use an over-extension strategy to move the load.
If you can avoid this, and keep pressure through the mid foot, you will be applying the most force through the ground and maintain overall balance through the pull.
