A full day of car prep. I had to weld up the cylinder head and machine the deck. New valves arrived from Down under. Upon close inspection some of the valve seats in the head needed work. In between all of that, I managed to glue in some balsa wood reinforcements for the hood. That will be sandwiched in fiberglass to limit the stress cracking which has been a long time issue.

After struggling with repeated leaking from the oil pickup of the titan drysump pan, I had to try to fix the design. The original design which was purchased new, uses o-rings to seal the pan as well as a double row on the pickup tube. I managed to keep it sealed for 1-2 weekends max before it would weep. I thought to weld an AN fitting to the pan fitting but despite cleaning the anodizing, the part would not weld cleanly. I fabricated a -10 to a 3/4" NPT and tapped the pan tube. We'll keep you updated if this fixed the issue.

Going over the car completely and cleaning the trailer floor of oil. Only to realize the dry sump pickup is leaking again. It seems the o-rings are good for about 4 hours before they weep. We'll need a redesign.
