Vaughan Football Association Home of the Rebels "Clear Eyes, Full Hearts…..Can’t Lose" The Rebels sent their first players to Team Ontario Try-outs.

Highlights of 2012

Our Vaughan Rebels took the field for the first time in the SOFAL Fall League, at the P*e Wee and Bantam Levels. Our Vaughan Rebels won their first Championship at the Bantam level, in the SOFAL white division. The VFA commenced the running of our off-season positional camps, fundamentals camps for beginners, as well as our Strength and Conditioning program for our Senior, Bant

am, and Junior players. The VFA secured a new home for its players at the Veneto Center, which will host all Rebels practices as well as House League games and practices. The VFA reached an agreement with the GTFL to crossover our house leagues enhancing the experience of our house league and developmental league players! Looking forward to 2013

The Vaughan Rebels will compete in Spring/Summer Rep Football for the first time as they have been accepted to the OFC and the OMFL! The Rebels will be entering teams from the Tyke-Junior divisions! The REBELS will return to rep football in the Fall! Our house league and Devo League will participate in the GTFL! Our players, parents and coaches will enjoy having a new home where we can host all of our practices, store our equipment, and add new equipment including a sled! Yearly Toronto Argo game excursion. Yearly York Lions game excursion. The Rebel family has developed a strong plan that will give our players the best possible experience as well as give them the opportunity to excel as football players, develop their skills, and compete as REBELS and beyond. Our plan will:

1. Give our players a fun, and well coached house league that will give our new players the opportunity to learn the sport in a fun and safe environment.

2. Provide offseason positional instruction as well as strength and conditioning development that will help them be the best athletes and football players they can be.

3. Provide our players with the best competition Ontario Football has to offer. We look forward to continuing to develop the great football culture in our great City. We are proud of all of our players who have proven to be hard working, disciplined and respectful athletes and members of the Rebel Family. Yours in Sport,

My reasons are personal about this...maybe if people's heads weren't buried in the sand of ignorance and they took the time to understand, instead of judging and thinking it won't happen to them because they have the perfect family, life would be a little bit easier for people that do experience this! This hits close to home for me, for family and friends who live under this shadow. The days of 'it' not being talked about or being taboo should be over. In the most difficult moments of life you realize who your true friends are, and the people who really appreciate you. Unfortunately, most social media 'friends' aren't true friends. They will send you a "like" here and there, but in reality, they do not take time to read your status if they see it's lengthy. More than half will stop reading right here, or have already scrolled on to the next post on their page. I decided to post this message in support of all those who continue to battle with their mental illness. (Su***de is at an all-time high). Now, let's see who will have taken the time to read this lengthy post right through to the end. If you have read everything so far, please "like" it so that I can put a thank you on your page. More mental health awareness is urgently needed. Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean people aren't suffering. Please, try to spare a little of your time with someone who may just want to talk (about anything). Talking can help us all to cope a little more, keeping things bottled up just makes it worse. Most people will say, "if you need anything, don't hesitate to call me, I'll be there to help you" but will they? I believe a select few of my friends will post this, to show their support for those who may be struggling. You just have to copy and paste rather than sharing. I'd like to know who will take a minute out of their day to read this all the way to the end and then copy and paste it to their page, will you? If so, please write "done" in the comments.
