This weekend the team ventured over to Vancouver to compete in the grappling industries tournament. It was an eventful tournament day with some great highlights and great performances from the team. As a team, we took the second place team trophy for the adults teams. 

There were many wins, but even in the losses, great jiujitsu was shown and progress made. The team had a great energy and showed tangible progress. Competition is a journey that can be challenging and disheartening, but with the right attitude, it can be a powerful tool for motivating and improving one's Jiu Jitsu. What decides this is the perspective.

As a coaches, we're equally proud of everyone who competed regardless of the outcome. That said, we'd like to take a moment to acknowledge some of the stand out performances of the day - Lucius won 10 matches (mostly subs) and double golded in the kids division, Jackson won 2 matches by RNC for the silver medal, Chloe with Gold and Silver in gi and nogi, Nick with 8 wins and 6 submissions for a double silver finally, our tournament MVP, Grayson, who won 9 matches (7 submissions) to earn himself a double gold and his blue belt on the podium.  

Amazing work to all the competitors. Let's take the lessons as fuel to motivate our training and help us take more from our time on the mats
