It was the start of plinth replacement today at Burnside. A learning experience and a lot of hard work by some of our members. This side will be finished before the season starts. The other sides will be done at the end of the season.
Thanks to the many helping.

Another successful Mix and Mingle Women's event for Novice to 3rd year bowlers was held today at our club. Despite everyone waking up to pouring rain, it did stop and all 26 women, representing 8 of our 11 clubs in the Bowls South Island District, had a wonderful time. This year we had 3 triples games and 2 pairs games going on for 3 rounds. As much as I could possibly do, everyone played every position.. Skip/Vice/Lead and teams changed each round. There were a couple of ladies who ended up skipping or leading twice, but with 26, needs must, right?
Sorting out the women into 3 close to equal groups, the top 3 placements from each group are awarded prize $ and this is probably the only tournament that awards last place with prize $. We also award some random prizes as well.
In first place and they will get their names on the trophy are Jean, Susan B and Cathy.
In second place are Carrie, Arlene and Suzanne
In 3rd place are Susan S, Cindy and Angela
Our Thanks for coming group are Bev, Mary and Donna.
Our random draw winners are Carole, Barbara and Dana

They are just in their third year of bowling. I foresee great things ahead for them.
