The Royal Victoria Yacht Club (https://rvyc.bc.ca/) presents the annual Swiftsure International Yacht Race, showcasing overnight race courses (75.2, 101.9, and 138.2 nautical miles) and a day-long race course. With the start line off the stunning waterfront of Victoria, BC, and racing in the Strait of Juan de Fuca with its rugged coastline and challenging winds and currents, this is a must for all sailors young and old.

The Royal Victoria Yacht Club is proud to host the 81st sailing of the Swiftsure International Yacht Race May 23-24, 2026.
The registration is open and it’s exciting to see the great teams from all over the Pacific Northwest who are preparing to race.
Swiftsure International Yacht Race is the largest and oldest long-distance race on the West Coast of North America, running since 1930. Starting at Clover Point, it challenges sailors to navigate the unpredictable winds and currents of the Juan de Fuca Strait, with courses ranging from inshore races to the 138-mile Swiftsure Lightship.

Two great races coming up over the next few weeks. First this weekend the Patos Island Race starts from Sidney. Attention Swiftsure competitors .... the glitches have been fixed and the registration portal is online at swiftsure.org Register there to participate in this year's race. And for 2026 onward we're switching to YB Tracking. YB will provide a more accurate and useful track of each boat during the race, and for race analysis afterwards.
