WETDASHE isn’t just a race against the clock ⏰, it’s a dry-change outrigger race that pushes limits through teamwork and the power of community.🔥 Teams choose 12 km (3 km × 4 laps), 24 km (3 km × 8 laps), or 48 km (3 km × 16 laps) and line up on the same course, with dockside hot-swaps of all six paddlers at the end of every lap counting toward the result—so synchrony, trust, and efficient transitions become the performance itself. Alongside Classic Women and Mixed categories, male-led Exhibition crews share the same water, reminding us that even as different teams, we’re fellow paddlers moving toward the same goal. 💪
Above all, the true meaning of WETDASHE is solidarity at speed. Through the BC Cancer Foundation’s “Make Every Second Count” campaign, donations support research and clinical development of PSMA prostate scanning for prostate cancer, and every $10 pledged pulls one second off a chosen team’s time, turning the moments our blades cut through the water into time that brightens someone’s tomorrow. We’re all striving for tomorrow and that tomorrow begins now, with the very first second your $10 brings closer.
