Decided to take the youngest out this morning early to do some metal detecting along the beach lands Shoreline in Royal Bay and low and behold came across a very interesting find. The young treasure hunter was clueless, but daddy knew exactly what it was and was all like jackpot I can totally use this at home.
As for the dog tag, there was a number on the back that I called. Left a message, as I’m hoping it might be something they want back.

My youngest has officially caught the treasure hunting bug and is bugging me daily to get out and search for loot, we skipped out yesterday, but managed to squeeze in an hour or so this evening at Langford lake beach and a small stretch of the lagoon. Just got back from our little metal detecting adventure where we scored a bunch of cap tabs, and a nickel at Langford lake beach and a Canadian dollar at the Esquimalt lagoon area. Before we got home, she had already asked to go out tomorrow. Is there a treasure hunter addiction group, I might need to think of putting her in, lol

Today we decided to go metal detecting at Esquimalt Lagoon, because, let's be honest, who doesn't love digging around in the dirt like a lunatic searching for treasure? We started by the bridge end, where we struck gold – a lucky penny, because clearly we're on a roll. It must have been our lucky charm, as we found some seriously cool stuff at that end, and even more by the bathrooms. After metal detecting since 8:30 this morning, it was time to pack it in. The youngest didn't want to quit, but daddy was running on fumes.

Here are some of the items we have retrieved from the water off the dock at glen lake. There are still some big things down there. I can feel them with the magnet. Thinking shopping carts and bikes mostly, will be down there in the next 30-45 mins.

Tonight I'll be at Glen Lake fishing dock along the galloping goose trail, probably attempting to yank out some monster thingy that my magnet couldn't handle. If you're curious about magnet fishing or want to swing by and laugh at my attempts to pull out a sunken car, doubt it, come on down.
It’ll probably be around 6:30-7pm that I will be down there

I'll be down at Glen Lake fishing dock tomorrow evening, attempting to yank out some massive things from the water. If you want to come down and witness the thrill of magnet fishing, swing by and check it out.

Got a secret spot you think we should attract ourselves into, to see what kind of treasures we can dredge up? Comment below, and we'll take the plunge.

Hello Westshore,
Have anyone walked past a bridge or went to a dock at one of the local lakes, and wondered what is under the surface? Maybe you see something metallic in the water and wish you had a magnet to get it out.
Well that’s what I plan on doing, and letting you all see what I pull up. But I won’t be alone. My 9 year old daughter will be be helping me on every adventure.
Already we have found 2 kids bikes, numerous shopping carts, diving goggles, change, and much more.
So if you want to follow along for the adventure, hit that like button, and be ready to see what we can find in sone of the places around the Westshore.
