💛September 10th is Worldwide Su***de Prevention Day.
Today is an opportunity to remind our community of something important:
It is okay to talk about su***de. It is okay to ask for help. And it is okay to ask someone directly is they are struggling.
This year's theme, "Changing the Narrative on Su***de," encourages us to start the conversation. Replacing silence and stigma with openness, compassion and connection.
Sometimes supporting someone doesn't require having the perfect words or trying to fix what they are going through.
It can simply look like:
💛"How are you really doing?"
💛"I've noticed you haven't seemed like yourself lately, want to talk?"
Asking someone directly does NOT increase their risk. It can open the door to an important conversation and help someone feel less alone.
Free Support Available:
📞 9-8-8 Su***de Crisis Helpline. Call or text 988, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can reach out if you are struggling or you are worried about someone else.

Consider checking in on someone today. Not just the person who appears to be struggling. Check on the strong friend. The funny friend. The caregiver. The parent. The teen. The person who has gone quiet. The person who always says "I'm fine.".
Reaching out and a conversation can matter more than we realize.
You don't have to carry the hard things alone. Help is available and hope is possible. 💛
