This partnership came through our phenomenal Iron Strides running instructors, Nicole and Eric Meredith. We’re already into Week 2 of Iron Strides, and they’ve been doing an incredible job with our runners!

September 1st marked our very first Iron GRITT group fitness class at Iron Valley’s new home!

Our Group Fitness Room isn’t quite ready yet, so for now we’re making it work on the turf with classes capped at just 12 people, and this one was FULL! 🙌

TWO MORE SLEEPS. 🖤

On Tuesday at 4:00 AM, we open the doors to Iron Valley Fitness at 4126 Garlands Crossing.

It’s hard to put into words what this means to Jeff and Amanda. We’ve dreamed about this for years, and watching it finally become real is incredibly special.

But before we move forward, we want to honour where we came from. 99 Stannus Street held 40 years of fitness and became our home at exactly the right time in our journey. We’ll always be grateful for the chapter it gave us.

We’re excited to see AJ and Joanne’s Combat Academy begin their chapter there, and we look forward to partnering with them.

A huge thank you to Mike and Allan at Anything Fitness for the countless hours spent moving, dismantling and rebuilding our equipment, and to every person who has worked alongside us to make this dream possible.

Two more sleeps. Then the dream becomes real. 🖤

It Takes a Village. 🖤

There is so much happening behind the scenes right now, and these pictures capture something that means a lot to Jeff and Amanda, the incredible people who have stepped up to help us bring our new home to life.

Today, Eric Meredith got our metal Iron Valley Fitness sign hung, and seeing it on that wall was definitely one of those “this is really happening” moments.

But that sign is only a tiny piece of what’s been happening.

Nicole Meredith and Melissa Williams have been right there helping wherever and whatever is needed. Steve and Reid Collie have been busy in the locker rooms hanging bathroom partitions. Mark Phillips has been priming, painting and moving heavy equipment. Kelli Maxwell and Dave McDonald tackled priming and painting in the other bathroom, Bruce and Brenda Peart have been doing everything from technology and painting to cleaning windows, wiping things down and helping with the finishing touches and interior design.

And then there are Ian and Sherry Lerette, our proud property owners and truly the definition of do-it-allers. They have been there from sunup to sundown, working alongside everyone and doing whatever needs to be done to make sure our dream becomes a reality. There really aren’t enough words to express how grateful we are for them. We simply couldn’t do this without them.

And somehow, in the middle of all of it, there’s Jeff and Amanda, trying to keep all the moving pieces moving. 😂

Friends. Family. Employees. Members. People showing up after work, getting dirty, picking up a paintbrush, lifting something heavy or simply asking, “What can I do?”

That is community.

Iron Valley may have our names on the paperwork, but this new home is being built with the fingerprints of so many incredible people.

We see every single one of you. We appreciate you more than you know. And we absolutely could not be doing this without you. 🖤

GROUP FITNESS IS ABOUT TO LEVEL UP! 🔥🖤

From September 1–8, we’ll be running a reduced Group Fitness schedule on our turf while we put the finishing touches on our brand new Group Fitness room.

Group Fitness is a huge part of Iron Valley. We have incredible instructors, amazing branded classes and an awesome community, and we want to make sure this new space is done right.

⚠️ Because we’re using the turf, class sizes will be reduced for this one week. Spots are limited, so please make sure you’re signed up to secure your space!

Then… SEPTEMBER 9th WE GO FULL THROTTLE! 🔥

More classes. More options. A dedicated Group Fitness space built for our community.

📲 Our new schedule is already listed in the Kinects Member Portal under Events, with the full schedule coming to our website as well.

🌟 MEMBER SPOTLIGHT ERIKA SWINAMER 🌟

We’re incredibly proud to spotlight Erika Swinamer as she heads back to ST. Thomas University for her third year of varsity soccer! ⚽️

Erika has been playing soccer for an impressive 17 years and started training with Coach Amanda in May with one goal in mind, becoming a stronger, faster, more resilient athlete on the pitch.

Over the last few months, Erika has made huge improvements in her overall strength, endurance, power, speed, stability and athletic performance. Her training has focused on building the strength and conditioning needed for the demands of varsity soccer, from explosive movement and change of direction to repeat sprint ability, durability and staying strong late in a game.

And because Erika apparently enjoys keeping Amanda on her toes, we’ve also been working on the very important goal of keeping her in one piece. 😂 This girl may need to be sent back to university wrapped in bubble wrap. 🫧

When she isn’t training or finding new ways to bug Amanda, Erika spends her summers working with West Hants Municipality Day Camps and at Windsor Elms, giving back to our community while preparing for another university season.

Erika, we are SO proud of the work you’ve put in and the athlete you continue to become. Go have an incredible third year, play hard, stay healthy (PLEASE 😂), and show them what all that work was for.

A LITTLE HEADS UP TO OUR IRON VALLEY COMMUNITY 🖤

As we head into our final few days at our temporary home, you’re going to notice some changes on the gym floor.

Anything Fitness will be moving equipment out Monday, August 24th through Wednesday, August 26th as we prepare for the move into our NEW HOME! 💪

We know having equipment removed is a disruption to your workouts, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding. Unfortunately, with the timeline we’re working with, this is the window we have to make it happen.

These next few days may look a little messy and feel a little different, but it means we are SO CLOSE.

Thank you for rolling with us through every stage of this transition. We cannot wait to welcome you through the doors of Iron Valley’s new home on September 1st.
