1. What motivated you to start your fitness journey at Barre Star?
I realized that if I wanted to keep carrying all the groceries in one trip I needed to get stronger and have more coordination. Luckily, barre and spin classes has helped me build that.
2. Whatâs been your biggest accomplishment or proudest moment so far?
Honestly, showing up consistently, I have been coming to classes since Whitneyâs first sessions. Also, there was a time I made it through an entire class without questioning all my life choices during the final set of pulses. That felt pretty significant.
3. Whatâs your favourite class or instructor â and why?
I canât pick one instructor or class as a favourite. Each brings something different, but they all have the unique ability to make my muscles feel the burn.
4. What keeps you coming back to the studio?
The combination of great workouts, awesome playlists, supportive people, having a sense of accomplishment, a space to not take yourself so seriously and the fact that somehow, I always leave feeling better than when I walked in.
5. What advice would you give to someone whoâs thinking about joining?
The hardest part is walking through the door. Every class helps you get a little stronger, more confident and the atmosphere makes it easier to come back. Just book a class and be prepared to be introduced to muscles you didnât even know that you had.

2026 is officially in the books! Started the day with a barre class, enjoyed a delicious lunch at the , and wrapped it up with an inspiring speech from the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan.

1. What motivated you to start your fitness journey at Barre Star?
I have always had fitness in my life. Words I am very aware of and live by are core, strength, stretch and balance. As we age those words become more important. I happened to come upon a Facebook post with a picture of someone I knew and it was posted by Barre Star Fitness. I messaged this person and she encouraged me to try the class. I had been backing off my words to live by so decided to give it a try!
2. Whatâs been your biggest accomplishment or proudest moment so far?
I went to Thursday evening Barre class. I enjoyed it, but knew I needed a little more. I did make it clear one evening that I would never be at a 6:00a.m. class! Best moment, so far, was deciding to finally try a 6:00am class. I wasnât sure my body was ready for that shock as it had been sometime since it has been asked to do that. I now love the 6:00 a.m. class.
3. Whatâs your favourite class â and why?
I have had two instructors and they are both great. They each bring their own style to it but I always feel like I have had a good workout by the end of the hour.
4. What keeps you coming back to the studio?
The encouragement of the instructors, the music definitely the music and how good I know I will feel when I leave and how theâgoodâ hurt may feel the next day. I have become very familiar with the words âtrackâ and âsqueezeâ! So much fun! Time flies!!
5. What advice would you give to someone whoâs thinking about joining?
I will pass on the same advice I got. Just come and try it. I am truly hooked. You are never too old to try something new. A spin class was now mentioned to meâŚ.not sureâŚmaybeâŚ.đ¤ˇââď¸đ

1. What motivated you to start your fitness journey at Barre Star?
My 1st barre class in Weyburn was a private class Whitney did for a group of us at Marleyâs Dance Studio I believe. It was so much fun I wanted to go back! I had been living part time in Regina and attending a barre studio there so I was very happy to know one was open in Weyburn. I started attending regularly when it operated out of The Dance Zone.
2. Whatâs been your biggest accomplishment or proudest moment so far?
I think my biggest accomplishment is showing up on the days I donât feel like it.
3. Whatâs your favourite class or instructor â and why?
I absolutely love all the instructors! I am going to say my favourite class is bike and barre because it it the perfect mix. Iâve always been a cardio girl but I love the challenge of of barre, it seems to get those muscles we didnât know existed. Sneaky đ
4. What keeps you coming back to the studio?
What keeps me coming back are the amazing instructors and members. Such a fun, positive, inspiring environment. It feels like home.
5. What advice would you give to someone whoâs thinking about joining?
My advice would be to just book that 1st class, that is hardest part, you wonât regret it! Everyone there has been in those shoes at one point and knows how nerve wracking it can be. It is such a welcoming, inclusive space surrounded by amazing people. Once you walk though the doors you will want to come back.
