2018.
Comfortably Numb got cancelled. One week out.
A small group of us looked at each other and said: the run must go on. No official race. No timing. Self-supported. Helly Hansen still showed up with swag. And a tight little trail running community gathered in a parking lot on an overcast day — because nobody wanted to let the OG Whistler trail race die.

That was the moment.

Dean and I bought the event. Not as a business move. Because we couldn’t watch it disappear.
133 runners in 2019. Dean eventually had to move on. Charlotte came in. We added the 50K in 2022. Then 166 runners. Then 200. Then nearly 250 — and we’ve held that as our cap ever since.

The course hasn’t changed much. The finish moved to Spruce Grove Park. Everything else? Still relentless. No single defining climb — just constant up and down, grinding you down over time. Death by a thousand paper cuts.
That’s the point. That’s why you keep coming back.

2026.
25K is nearly full.
50K still has room — fast and flowy first half, then Comfy Numb proper.

Charlotte and I are grateful for every single one of you.

☕ Sponsor Spotlight | Moguls Coffee House ☕

We love having Moguls as a longtime sponsor of our event.

From keeping staff and volunteers caffeinated and happy on race morning, to those GIANT cookies waiting at the finish line... Moguls just gets it. 🙌🏽

Locally owned and operated since 1992, Moguls has been a cornerstone of the Whistler community for over 30 years. Find them in the heart of the Village Stroll — their patio is the perfect spot for your Sunday morning coffee and post-race brunch.

Moguls isn’t just a coffee shop. It’s where community thrives. We’re so grateful to have them in our corner year after year. 🍪💛

25k or 50k — which one is yours?
Both finish on Comfortably Numb. How you get there is a different story.

25K | 941m climb · 912m descent Deceptively challenging. Genuinely rewarding. This trail twists and turns with rocks, roots, and bridgework that demands your full attention from start to finish.

50K | 1683m climb · 1657m descent Same finish line. Earned differently. A flowing 25k opener warms the legs before the course merges into Comfortably Numb — and delivers you everything the 25k has to offer, with 25k already in your legs.

Race day is 10 weeks away. Time to commit to your distance and start training with purpose. 🙌🏼

Which are you running? Drop it in the comments 👇
