Thank you, BSC, for your support of community sports organizations. The Golf Classic was a great day, and as one of the beneficiaries, it's helping us make curling accessible to everyone in Whitehorse.

Loads of fun at the BSC Golf Classic (July 3)! Thanks to Sport Yukon for organizing a great event. As one of the recipients of the tournament proceeds, we were pleased to be there to introduce curling to golfers. At "our" hole, there was a photo booth (with a rather creepy curler) and a Hit the Target challenge (curling rings 200 yards down the fairway). There was sun, there was rain, and lots of laughs for a wonderful day to support Yukon sport organizations.

Congratulations to W.C.C. member Charles Snider. He is one of six 2026 Sandra Schmirler Foundation "Spirit of Sandra" Scholars. The program recognizes young curlers who give back in their clubs, their classrooms, and their communities. Charles receives a $5,000 scholarship and a year of curling mentorship from Olympic curlers Lisa Weagle and Brett Gallant. Charles is well known around our club for being active in the Juniors program, playing in leagues and bonspiels, and representing Yukon at regional and national competitions. He is currently studying secondary education at the University of Alberta. All the very best, Charles.

Congratulations to Scott Williamson, 2026 W.C.C. Volunteer of the Year! As coordinator and lead instructor of our Learn to Curl program, Scott inspires new curlers to take their first steps on the ice and learn our game. Scott creates an environment that supports and encourages new curlers. He guides and mentors them to develop their skills and feel welcome in our curling community. Many club members are part of teams today thanks to Scott's encouragement. Thank you, Scott, for all that you do. (Photo: left, W.C.C. President Mark Evans; right, Scott Williamson)
