There is a specific kind of quiet that settles in on Labour Day. The docks are emptying, the evening air carries a sudden, sharp chill, and summer is quietly slipping through our fingers for another year. It is hard not to feel a little heavy-hearted as the long, sun-drenched afternoons fade into autumn shadows.🍁🍂

But as the warmth retreats, a different kind of magic takes its place. That crisp breeze rattling the changing leaves means one thing: the ice is calling.

But we are very happy to remind you that registration is officially open for the Wilberforce Curling Club's 50th Anniversary Season! 🥌✨

That is half a century of throwing rocks, sweeping hard, and warming up together in the lounge. Whether you are a seasoned skip or stepping onto the sheet for the very first time, we want you here for our golden year. 🎉 50 Years of Wilberforce Curling: Online Registration Open Now!! 🥌

​Get ready to sweep into a milestone year—the Wilberforce Curling Club is officially celebrating its 50th Anniversary for the 2026/2027 season!!

​To get everyone on the ice faster, online league registration has officially opened!! Log in to secure your spot for this historic year of community curling.

🎉Get ready to sweep into a milestone year because the Wilberforce Curling Club is officially celebrating its 50th Anniversary!🎉


Kick off this historic 2026/2027 season by joining us at the club on September 17, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM for our In-Person League Registration and Kick-Off BBQ. It’s the perfect opportunity to reconnect with fellow curlers, enjoy some great food, and secure your spot on the ice for our upcoming leagues. Our Fall season will run from October 19 to December 14, 2026, with the Winter season following shortly after from January 3 to March 12, 2027.

Keep an eye out for updates, as bonspiel information is forthcoming while we work to finalize those dates. We can’t wait to see you at the BBQ to launch half a century of community curling!🥌

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU! ❤️🌲🛞

​Putting together an event like the 2026 Wilberforce ATV Ride takes a whole community, and this year, our community truly showed up in the biggest way possible.

​To every local business, generous family, and dedicated donor listed below: you are the fuel that powers this event. Your incredible generosity and unwavering support didn’t just make this ride possible—it brought neighbours together, welcomed riders from near and far, and celebrated the vibrant, tight-knit spirit of our beautiful Highlands East and Haliburton County home.

​Whether you donated prizes, supplies, services, or your hard-earned time, please know how deeply appreciated you are.

Behind every sign on the trail, every warm meal, every prize won, and every mile of open trail was someone who believed in this event.

The best thing we all can do is show up, put a team in a bonspiel, help out your ice maker, offer prizes for a fundraiser, sell tickets, cook something for a spiel, show up at a meeting, sponsor a junior team, do something, but show up for your curling centre this season.

Wow! We are still buzzing from yesterday's 2026 Wilberforce ATV Ride. What an absolutely EPIC event! 🎉

A huge shoutout to our amazing
Highlands East Firefighters! 🚒💦

​As our riders from the Wilberforce ATV ride are starting to roll back in for dinner, our local heroes are running an absolutely incredible washdown station to get everyone cleaned up.

​Thank you so much to our fire crew for always going above and beyond to support our community events. We appreciate you! 👏

​The engines have all started, the adrenaline is pumping, and the dirt is officially flying by now! Today's Wilberforce ATV Ride has just hit the trails here in beautiful Highlands East! 🌲💨

​Check out the video below to catch the incredible energy from the starting line. It’s shaping up to be an absolutely epic Saturday full of mud, machines, and making memories on some of the best trails in Ontario.
