As the Italian Canadian HandiCapable Association looks forward to when we can engage with our members again it is important to remember and honour our founder Egidio Novelleto for starting an organization that has given his son Peter and countless others a fair and equal chance to participate. It all began in 1977 when Egidio started a soccer program for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Today the ICHA is one of the largest organizations of its kind in Ontario offering a variety of sports and recreational activities to all individuals with a physical or intellectual disability in the Windsor and Essex County area. The word “Italian” in our name reflects the ethnic background of our founding members and recognizes their generous contributions and the commitment they have given to our organization over the years.

Online classes that are currently operating on Monday nights will take a summer break. Our last class will be on June 28 at 7pm. New members can join any time. Email [email protected]. Classes will commence again in the fall. Check for updates here or on the ICHA page.

Jennifer started her Tae Kwon Do training last fall with the Hwarangdo Youth Group. Jennifer is an excellent student, working hard every class. She is wearing a new uniform funded by Breakaway Gaming Center and Charitable Gaming. We would like to thank everyone involved in bringing this opportunity to Jennifer and the Hwarangdo Youth Group.

Mitchell started his Tae Kwon Do training in January with the Hwarangdo Youth Group. Mitchell is taking great interest in not only the physical aspect but also the history of Tae Kwon Do. Mitchell is sporting a new uniform funded by Breakaway Gaming Center and Charitable Gaming. We would like to thank everyone involved in bringing this opportunity to Mitchell and the Hwarangdo Youth Group.

Kelly has many hobbies and the latest one being Tae kwon do with the Hwarangdo Youth Group. Kelly has recently acquired a new uniform funded by Breakaway Gaming Center and Charitable Gaming. We like to thank everyone involved of bringing this opportunity to Kelly and the Hwarangdo Youth Group.

Nic is new to Tae Kwon Do. He is participating on these virtual classes on Monday night. He also enjoys his virtual Yoga class on Wednesday evening with Coco and virtual dance class with Up About Down. Hwarando Youth Group is offering virtual Tae Kwon Do on Monday evenings at 7 pm. This class is supported by ICHA, BreakAway Gaming Center and Charitable Gaming. A big thanks goes out to all these organizations and the patrons who support this bingo establishment.
