[Dojo Reopening Announcement]
OSU! and Hello Everyone,
I am pleased to announce that the Chudokan Dojo will finally be opening again in August. This will be a slow opening as there are still some health restrictions that will prevent the full operation of regular Aikido classes. To that end, our first class of 2021 will be Yoga on Wednesday August 4th at 6:30pm. Iaido (Japanese sword study) will formally begin on Thursday August 5th at 8:30pm. We will have Yoga classes on Wednesday's (6:30-7:30pm) and Saturday's (10:30-11:30am) and have added an additional class on Monday's (6:30-7:30pm) beginning on Monday August 9th. Yoga membership fees will be $50.00 monthly now, with 3 days of classes available per week. Iaido will continue with classes on Sunday's (7-8pm), Monday's (8-9pm) and Thursday's (8:30-9:30pm). Fees will remain the same for Iaido memberships.
Aikido classes will begin on Tuesday, September 7th with Youth classes from 5:45-6:45pm and adult regular classes from 11am-12:15pm and also 7pm-8:15pm. This will be the same schedule for Thursday classes. At this time there will be no open training classes on Monday or Friday evenings. The Little Samurai program will begin on Saturday September 11th at its usual time (9-10am).
It has been a long time since we have been able to run classes and I am hoping to see many of our students return this fall. It will likely be a slow start to bring back old members and enroll new ones but I am optimistic we will build back strong with your help. See you on the mat. OSU!

Will it ever end? – Aikido Canada No Comments osu, Philosophy 2 May, 2021 When will we finally be able to get past the pandemic? That is a very common question nowadays. It seems like it will never end. The news cycles are constantly talking about its effects, vaccine issues, new variants, 3rd and maybe 4th waves, mask pros and cons...

Hello Everyone,
Spring is on its way and the pandemic numbers are reducing with vaccines coming soon. As we are now in the Red Level, we can accommodate up to 10 people in classes again. We still need to wear masks and keep two meters apart but that can easily be accomplished in both our Iaido and Yoga classes. As of Monday March 1st, the Chudokan will be resuming the regular schedule for both Yoga and Iaido classes. Aikido classes for children and adults will follow once we move to the Orange Level and have less restrictions on numbers and interactions. I am hopeful this will occur by April at the latest.
I look forward to the Chudokan getting back to offering all our regular classes and seeing you at the Dojo. With the best regards, OSU!

Where Do We Go From Here? – Aikido Canada No Comments osu, Philosophy 11 January, 2021 2020 has finally passed and we are well into 2021. For many people, they may think good riddance. There seemed to be so much negativity, difficulty and frustration last year. Most of us were, and still are, in a recurring state of mental and for many, phy...

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you! 🎄Here is a holiday message from our Hanshi Kevin Blok. 😃
To all our members, parents, friends and associates,
This year has be a very difficult one on so many levels and for so many people. An end to the pandemic seems to be in sight but there will still be some continued time of shutdown and limited social interactions for a while. During this holiday time and into the new year, please think about the health and safety of others as well as yourselves. This is both kind and unselfish. This time is often called the season of giving. Lets give our love, kindness and understanding to those around us and build a better social connection to the important people in our lives.
I send my warmest regards to you all and hope that next year will be the best one of our lives and the least of those to come. OSU!
