EBTA In-Season Development Program (High School Boys – League Season)

Philosophy
At EBTA, in-season does NOT mean slowing down.
In-season means maintaining the same discipline, structure, and work ethic that was built in the off-season.

We do not say:
“It’s season, go lighter.”
We say:
“We stay ready so we never have to get ready.”

Players who have trained for years continue the full program year-round, while newer or less physically developed players follow a modified in-season version that maintains conditioning without overtraining.

The goal of the in-season program is to develop:
Discipline
Conditioning
Skill repetition
Academic responsibility
Mental toughness
Time management
Recovery habits

Daily In-Season Schedule (Typical School Day – No Game)
Morning (Before School)

Wake up early
EBTA Strength & Conditioning Program
Advanced players → full lifting program
Beginner / younger players → modified in-season lift
Mobility / injury prevention work
Nutrition after lift
Players do NOT skip lifting because it is in-season.

School Day
Attend full academic day
Maintain grades
Hydration and proper nutrition during school

After School (EBTA Skill Session – 1 hour max)
Players come directly to EBTA before team practice.

Workout includes:
500-1000 shots (depending on level)
Ball handling
Passing work
Form shooting / footwork

Time limit:
Maximum 1 hour
Purpose:
Maintain skill level
Maintain shooting rhythm
Stay sharp all season

Team Practice (High School / Club)
Attend full team practice
Compete
Apply skills from EBTA training

Night Routine (Mandatory Recovery Discipline)
Homework / studying
Ice / recovery work if needed
Cold tub
Proper nutrition
Reading before bed
Sleep discipline
Players are expected to act like serious athletes, not casual players.

Game Day Schedule (League Game – Tuesday / Thursday)

Morning:
Full lifting program (advanced players)
Modified lift (younger players)

School:
Normal school day
Before Game (EBTA):
500 shots ONLY
500 straight shots takes:
~20–25 minutes at EBTA level

Purpose:
Stay sharp
Stay confident
Stay in rhythm

Then:
Go to team game

Weekend League / Tournament Schedule
If no High School Tournament obligations, EBTA league games may be scheduled.

Example weekend:
Friday
After school:
EBTA → 1000 shots
Travel to games
Play 2 games

Saturday
Morning:
Lift (in-season program)
1000 shots after lift
Afternoon
Play 2 games

Sunday
Morning:
1000 Shots

Afternoon:
Play 2 games

Travel Rules (EBTA Standard)
When traveling to games (especially USA trips):
Inside the car:

No music
No distractions
Headphones allowed for podcasts / study only

Players must:
Study
Do homework
Read
Prepare academically
Travel time = study time

This eliminates excuses like:
“I have a test”
“I have homework”
“I don’t have time”
At EBTA:
We don’t get ready.
We stay ready.

EBTA Motto
Stay ready so you never have to get ready.
In-season is not a break.
In-season is proof of who is serious.

Another Stewart goes Full Scholarship!!!!!!!!!!

"I had the joy of seeing my brother and his family for the first time in a long while, and it filled me with so much gratitude. He has three wonderful boys, and I couldn’t be more proud. Hudson, the oldest, has just signed a Division I baseball scholarship—an incredible accomplishment that has me overjoyed and truly on cloud nine.

What makes me so happy isn’t just the scholarship itself, but seeing the man my brother has become—a devoted husband, a loving father, and a role model to his sons. His wife and their family together are a true blessing.

I’ve always tried to set an example with my work ethic and passion through basketball, and I hoped that would inspire my brothers and sisters. They each went on to become NCAA scholarship athletes themselves. I often remind the kids I coach, as well as the parents I come in contact with that one of the greatest responsibilities of a parent is to help their children become better than themselves. To NEVER give up on their kids!!! That’s my belief—though I know others may see it differently, and I respect that.

Seeing my nephew follow in this tradition fills me with indescribable joy. My brother went Division II on a full scholarship, and now his son is taking it even further, continuing the legacy. To me, that’s a sign of a father’s success—raising his children to reach higher.

It’s humbling, it’s inspiring, and it’s something that makes me want to jump for joy. I’m so proud of my brother, his wife, and their boys.

A big shoutout to the Chad & Allison Stewart family for keeping the tradition alive and strong."

EBTA Ballhandling Behind the Back Cones Touch Drops 08/29/2025

EBTA has just wrapped up its 24th summer of World Level Training!

This Summer was an incredible one — every player showed noticeable improvement, both in skill and confidence.

One of my favorite success stories: a young athlete who was once jokingly nicknamed “two left feet” has transformed his game. He now looks ready to average 20 points per game this season — and to think, he was cut from his school team before coming to me!

I don’t mind when people doubt or underestimate my players early on, because I know the results in the end will speak for themselves. Hard work, inovation, passsionate evolving knowledge, and consistent (stack days fool) training always prove the critics wrong.

As I head into my 25th year running EBTA, I’m grateful for the journey. Just five more years until retirement, a full pension — and then, off to the NBA!

Keep me in your prayers, though — Windsor historically is a Talentless Basketball City with even worse knowledge, work ethic and it has gotten even worse recently. Fostering extreme discouragement. But the mission continues.
