PLEASE ANYONE IN A RACE CAR OR INVOLVED WITH ANYONE WHO GETS IN A RACE CAR....DO THIS! Also, all racers need to question the speedways they race at on their safety plans. ALL TRACKS NEED WELL PRACTICED, EQUIPPED AND INFORMED SAFETY CREWS AND INFIELD WORKERS! THERE IS MORE TO OPERATING A SPEEDWAY THAN PREPARING A RACING SURFACE!!! PASS IT ON!!!
I'd be happy to volunteer my time to attend and assist tracks with things they need to think about before something terrible happens. I have even in the past advised racers that they need to have a crew member in a firesuit on a 4 wheeler when they are on the track as the track they are at has no plan for an emergency. Upon speaking with a former track owner we have wondered how these facilities get insurance coverage.
While I'm at it... here's a reminder. All WISSOTA licenses come with insurance for the driver (think about that next time you complain about the fee!) UNSANTIONED DRIVERS CAN STILL PURCHASE INSURANCE THRU WISSOTA! If you haven't done it yet, do it now.

One simple skill could save a life. In honor of Case Higgins and his courageous fight, Factory Fourteen has launched the —a challenge with a purpose that every racer should take seriously.
The goal is simple: practice getting out of your race car quickly and safely in the event of an emergency.
Here's how it works:
🏁 Suit up in your full safety gear with your belts fastened, neck restraint connected, and visor down.
🏁 Start with both hands on the steering wheel.
🏁 Turn off all master/power switches before unbuckling.
🏁 Exit the car as quickly and safely as possible.
🏁 Post your video, tag Factory Fourteen, use , and challenge three other racers to do the same.
The challenge runs through August 31, and everyone who completes it according to the rules will be entered to win one of five Factory Fourteen merchandise bundles valued at more than $100.
More importantly, this challenge is about building a habit that could make all the difference when seconds matter most. Whether you race a sprint car, late model, modified, midget, kart, dragster, or any other race car, emergency exit practice is something every driver should know by heart.
Please continue to keep Case Higgins, his family, and everyone involved in his recovery in your thoughts and prayers. Here's hoping this challenge not only raises awareness but helps make racing safer for everyone.
