Why every parent should want their child to finish their black belt

It takes a lot of dedication and hard work to earn a black belt. For many kids, the journey starts when they’re just 5 or 6 years old. They might attend weekly classes, participate in tournaments, and regularly test for new belts. And while it’s not always easy, the benefits of completing that journey are more than worth it. Here are four reasons why every parent should want their child to finish their black belt.

1. Black Belt Kids Are More Confident
The first benefit of having your child complete their black belt is that they will become more confident. When kids first start learning martial arts, they’re often shy and withdrawn. But as they progress through the ranks and learn new techniques, they begin to come out of their shell. By the time they reach black belt level, they’re usually much more confident and outgoing than when they started.

2. Black Belt Kids Are More Disciplined
Another benefit of having your child earn their black belt is that they will become more disciplined. Martial arts training requires kids to focus and pay attention, follow instructions, and persevere through challenging situations. These are all skills that will serve them well in other areas of their life, like school and relationships.

3. Black Belt Kids Are Less Likely to Be Involved in Violence
Contrary to what some people believe, martial arts training does not make kids more violent. In fact, studies have shown that kids who train in martial arts are actually less likely to be involved in violence. This is because they learn how to control their emotions and channel their energy into positive activities like training and competition.

4. Black Belt Kids Have Higher Self-Esteem
Lastly, black belt kids tend to have higher self-esteem than those who don’t train in martial arts. This is because they accomplish goals that are challenging both physically and mentally, which boosts their sense of accomplishment and pride. They also learn that failure is a normal part of life and that it’s nothing to be ashamed of—a valuable lesson that can help them in other areas of their life as well.

As you can see, there are plenty of reasons why every parent should want their child to finish their black belt journey. If your child is currently enrolled in martial arts classes, encourage them to stick with it—it could end up being one of the best decisions you ever make as a parent!

Morning yelling to get dressed?

When it comes to dressing their children, moms want what’s best for them. We want them to be comfortable, look cute and feel confident. And we definitely don’t want to have to yell at them to get them dressed!

Here are a few tips on how to help your child get dressed without any yelling:

1. Anticipate before it’s about to happen. If you can see that your child is getting antsy and is about to start whining about getting dressed, try to beat them to the punch. Start getting them ready yourself so they don’t have a chance to complain.

2. Set the tone. If you want your child to get dressed quickly, you need to set the expectation that this is what needs to happen. Let them know that there’s no time for arguing or complaining – it’s time for getting dressed!

3. Give them routine. One of the best ways to get your child to do anything is by giving them a routine. Establish a morning routine where everyone knows what needs to be done and when it needs to be done. This will help eliminate any guesswork (or arguing) about what needs to be done next.

4. Prompt them. If your child seems hesitant or confused about what they need to do, give them a prompt. This can be as simple as telling them what outfit they should put on or which shoes go with which pants.

1. The summer is a great time to rebuild social skills, because there are fewer distractions than during the school year
2. Kids have more free time during the summer, so they can focus on rebuilding their social skills
3. There are many different ways to rebuild social skills, including playing sports, going to camp, and joining clubs or groups
4. It's important to be patient when rebuilding social skills - it takes time and practice
5. The most important thing is to keep trying and never give up!

The connection between parents and children has been decreasing over time, which leads to more challenging behaviour from the child. In order for a person's emotional cup to be full, they need quality connections with their loved ones on daily basis; when this occurs there'll exist healthy self-worth in an individual as well as empathy towards others so he/she can bring out kindness even while going through tough times.

It can be tough to find time to connect with your child. Between work and household responsibilities, it's often hard to carve out a few minutes each day for quality interaction. But it's important to make the effort! Connecting with your child is crucial for their development and well-being. In this blog post, we'll discuss some tips for staying connected with your child. We'll also provide some basic advice on how to pay attention to your child's individual needs and strengths. So read on for tips on how to create a meaningful connection with your little one!

One of the best ways to stay connected with your child is by being present. Turn off your devices or mute all notifications, and focus on spending time with your child. Be engaged! It's not enough to just watch them or interact superficially. Get involved in their activities and be interactive. This will help foster a closer connection with your child.

Another important thing to keep in mind is that each child is unique. You need to be attuned to who your child is "as a whole" and understand their physical, intellectual, emotional, and social stages of development. This will help you identify opportunities for nurturing without criticism. Each stage of development brings new challenges and opportunities, so it's important to be aware of your child's individual needs.

We hope these tips have been helpful! Stay tuned for more blog posts on parenting and child development. And remember, the best way to stay connected with your child is by spending quality time with them every day. Thank you for reading!

What is D.O.S.E?

One of the things that sets a Skillz school apart from other programs, is the training
the instructors go through.

Because Skillz is based on the science and psychology of how kids grow and learn,
our instructors learn all about how to leverage things such as the “D.O.S.E.
Method”.

D.O.S.E. stands for: dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin and endorphins.

These are happy chemicals in the brain that reinforce the way the neurological
pathways in the brain are formed.
When we can leverage these in positive ways, we can actually help kids learn
faster so they can use all the skills they’ll learn in class - at home, in school, and
with their friends.

How Physically?
Many activities will help your children develop physically.
But Skillz classes were designed from the ground up to meet each child’s needs
where they are at their unique stage of development.

Children that are 3 years old have very different physical needs than children who
are 10.

And our martial arts curricula were designed to fit the physical needs of children in
each of those age groups
