Did You Know?
When a child takes a dance class, they are learning so much more than dance.
They are learning to walk into a room with confidence.
To listen.
To take turns.
To be patient.
To keep trying when something feels difficult.
To celebrate someone else's success.
To believe in themselves.
These are not just dance lessons.
These are life lessons.
Long after they have forgotten the routine, they will remember what dance taught them about commitment, perseverance, kindness, respect, and confidence.
Those lessons will help them in school, in their careers, in their relationships, and in the way they face life's challenges.
That is one of the greatest gifts dance can give a child.

There was once a child who walked into the dance studio in tiny shoes.
Maybe they were nervous. Maybe they were excited. Maybe they held onto a parent’s hand. Maybe they walked right in like they already belonged.
At the time, it may have felt like just one class.
One small beginning.
One teacher saying hello.
And then the years happened.
The shoes got bigger. The child got taller. The confidence grew. The friendships formed. The studio became part of their childhood.
How cool is that!
Because dance is never only about the steps.
It is about the child who learns to listen, try, work hard, stand tall, and believe in themselves.
Years from now, those tiny shoes may be packed away in a box somewhere.
But what dance helped build in that child can last a lifetime.
Confidence.
Courage.
Memories.
A place to belong.
That is why the journey is so awesome.
Over 62 yrs I have had kids turn into teens turn into adults dancing. Then become moms and bring their kids and then grammas come with their grandchildren. It is so rewarding.
Today, I am grateful for a life in dance.
Grateful for a healthy body that has allowed me to dance, teach, travel, create, and experience the emotions of life through movement and music.
Dance has given me a way to express feelings that words could never quite capture. It has brought me joy, carried me through difficult times, and connected me with people I might never have
What a gift it is to spend a lifetime surrounded by people who believe in the power of dance.
I am grateful for where dance has taken me, for the people it has brought into my life, and for every opportunity still ahead.
There is nothing like a life in dance. How cool is that!!!
A Child's Resume
Imagine if every child had a resume.
Not one filled with trophies, titles, scholarships, or awards.
A resume that really mattered.
Experience:
• Learned discipline and the importance of showing up.
• Learned how to focus on a goal.
• Understood what it means to be part of a team.
• Developed determination and refused to give up.
• Learned to work with others.
• Accepted correction and used it to grow.
• Showed up prepared and ready to work.
• Encouraged and supported others.
• Learned that progress takes time.
• Handled disappointment without walking away.
• Built confidence through hard work.
• Celebrated the success of others.
• Made friendships that may last a lifetime.
Now that is a resume.
Only a small percentage of our dancers will grow up to dance professionally. But every single one of them can leave the studio with discipline, focus, determination, confidence, and heart.
Those are the qualities they will carry into their families, their careers, and their communities.
Years from now, very few people will ask these children how many trophies they won. But the world will benefit from the confidence they gained, the discipline they learned, the respect they showed, and the kindness they shared.
Yes, we teach dance.
But every day, we are also helping to shape the kind of people this world needs.
How cool is that!
LOOKING FOR POSITIVE DANCE MOMS
(And dads too!)
Qualifications include:
You cheer for your child without comparing them to someone else’s.
You understand that progress does not happen at the same pace for every dancer.
You respect the teacher, the studio, and the other families.
You encourage effort, commitment, kindness, and growth, not just trophies, placements, or the front and center part.
You help your child through disappointment without blaming the teacher, another dancer, or the judges.
You speak positively about the studio in front of your child.
You celebrate every dancer, not only your own.
You remember that dance is supposed to bring confidence, friendships, life lessons, and joy into a child’s life.
You show up. You help out. You clap loudly. You trust the process.
And when the costume is itchy, the bun is crooked, the schedule changes, or the competition runs two hours late, you take a breath and remember that someday, these may be the memories you miss the most.
Positive dance parents help create positive dancers.
And every great studio is grateful to have them.
Have an awesome day.
