How to Welcome the Fall Equinox
Now that you understand what the Fall Equinox is, let’s talk about how you can welcome the season. Whether you are new to the world of Kundalini Yoga or have been practicing for some time, there are things you can do to mark this period. Harnessing the power of Mother Nature and the grandness of each season is an effective way to boost your practice. With that in mind, here are some of the activities you may wish to do:
1. Start using positive affirmation
Regardless of how you’re feeling right now, we could all do with some positivity in our lives. Why not get started by using positive affirmations in your everyday life? You can create your own or use some radical self-care quotes to get started.
2. Clear your mind
Feeling overwhelmed or under pressure? Taking a moment to clear your mind is the answer. Luckily enough, there’s a meditation to help you reach mental clarity. Take a few moments to yourself and engage in this soothing and relaxing practice.
3. Cook healthy meals
The Fall Equinox is the perfect time to start adopting healthier habits. One place you may want to start is by cooking healthy meals at home. Learn a couple of basic recipes, which will become your staples. Use them whenever you need something tasty and nutritious.
4. Rid yourself of negativity
Negative feelings are dangerous to our emotional well-being. Now that the fall season is here, welcome it by ridding yourself of these toxic emotions. You may want to start with a breathing technique that helps you banish these feelings and instill a level of calm.
It is a time of natural beauty. For a moment, the sun crosses the celestial equator, marking the changing of the seasons. Saying goodbye to the old and joyously bringing in the new, this is a time of reflection and change.

Yogic Recommendations: Steps to Deep, Dreamless Sleep
Use these Kundalini Yoga techniques to quickly achieve deep sleep in just a few minutes:
Step 1: A busy mind has difficulty sleeping. Quiet your thoughts by first visualizing all your worries, ideas and problems, wrapping them up in a package, then placing that package on a shelf in your mind. You’ll be amazed at how many are gone, solved or improved by the time you wake up.
Step 2: Lie on your stomach, turn your head so your right cheek is on the pillow. This automatically opens your left nostril to bring in cooling, calming energy. Practice long, deep breathing in this position. Then block your right nostril completely with your hand and continue long, deep breathing through the left nostril.
Step 3: Once you feel drowsy, turn to your preferred sleeping position on your back or side. Continue long, deep breathing until asleep.
Sleep is always an important component to health and wellness. During stressful times, quality sleep is difficult to achieve. These steps will help you refine your sleep routine and discover better rest. To learn more, visit kundaliniresearchinstitute.org.
